Bandai: Figure-rise Standard Dragon Ball Z Goku and Krillin Promo Images plus New Effects

The Bandai Figure-rise Standard Dragon Ball model line started about a year ago and it’s given us some exciting figures but since the beginning I’ve been needing a good, plain, non-Super Saiyan Goku. And then of course Krillin. It looks like that wish is coming true!

And that sounds way more entitled than I mean it to be. It’s only been a year. There are some toylines out there that ran waaaay longer before giving us plain versions of main characters, so I’m definitely not griping. I’m excited, really.

I mean, just take a look at Son Goku!

The body is essentially the same body as both the Super Saiyan Goku and SS3 models, but the big draw here, at least fr me, is the head. That’s also the reason I skipped on SS3 and even SS4, I wanted the original DBZ Goku. Patience, woo!

The kit comes with 3 faces (neutral, happy, screaming), lots of hands, and Kamehameha effects.

And then there’s Krillin.

At first I thought Krillin might reuse some parts from Gohan but now I don’t think it does. Either way, the kit is smaller and therefore a little cheaper than Goku.

Krillin includes three faces (neutral, surprised, and screaming), various hands, two effects (Kikouha and Kienzan), and the android detonator.

Son Goku is listed at about $20, Krillin for $18, and both are set to release in August. There is also a deluxe set available where both kits are included in the same package. There isn’t really a discount for the deluxe but it does come with a clear stand set of some kind.

Speaking of stands, two new Figure-rise Effects have also been solicited. There is the Burst Effect:

And then the Ground Effect:

The Yellow and Blue Aura Effects were pretty nice so I’m expecting the same here. Both Ground and Burst are running about $7 and also release in August.
