Bandai: 1:6 Scale Star Wars Stormtrooper Model Kit Video and Quick Pics

Bandai has released the first entry into their 12-inch scale Star Wars model kit line with the classic Stormtrooper. Okay, classic with a splash of Rogue One. And maybe Rebels. To be honest it’s hard to tell.

The Stormtrooper has been redesigned completely compared to the 6-inch Stormtrooper model from a few years ago. Different look and engineering. It’s kind of insane just how different the whole thing is but I can only guess the larger size affords some intricate design to be added, like the addition of hinge and swivel wrists and toe hinges.

But the kit isn’t without it’s problems. As good as the original 1:12 scale kit looked I don’t know why they didn’t keep it’s general build and proportions. Here, the head is slightly large and the body is a tad thin. By themselves it wouldn’t matter much, and when compared to other 1:6 scale figures it looks like a skinny guy wearing armor. But those two aspects with the figure by itself in a neutral stance and they accentuate each other, causing each to blow the other out. But in action poses it doesn’t look nearly as bad. It’s a weird effect.

Also, like the K-2SO model from last week, I haven’t applied the decals yet. I’m waiting to finish the Scarif Stormtrooper and then having a huge #waterslideparty.
