Well it didn’t take Medicom long to solicit another version of the Joker from Suicide Squad!
Okay, I still haven’t seen Suicide Squad so I don’t know what is with all these different versions of the Joker. The first MAFEX version was shirtless with a trenchcoat and now this one has a suit. The S.H. Figuarts also has a suit but is different than this one. And I hate to say it but I think I prefer the MAFEX suit version more.
And I say hate because in my experience with MAFEX so far it’s hit and miss. Darth Vader, R2-D2, and BvS Batman are all pretty nice figures. C-3PO and BvS Superman are hair-pulling lumps of plastic frustration. Okay, maybe not that bad, but the quality is way lower than the other offerings. Loose joints, stuck joints, joints that fall apart. Night and day. So I’m looking at all future MAFEX releases with a bit of trepidation. I’ll admit they all LOOK good though.
The figure comes with two heads. One nasty, one crazy laughing. And both look really good. It will be interesting to see what the final product looks like but at this point I like the faces better than the Figuarts. What alternate dimension have I fallen into?
The accessories are also nice, including a cane, a rifle, and a pistol.
Several hands are shown. Trigger finger, grip, and open hands. The usual fare.
And then I have no clue how the straight jacket is supposed to work. Is it a whole new torso? A whole new body? The pants look to be a different color in this pic but it may just be the lighting.
MAFEX Joker suit version will run you about $55 before shipping and is set to release June 2017.
