5 WWE Attitude-Era Women Mattel Needs to Make

wwe attitude era

If you’re a modern divas women’s wrestling fan, Mattel has undoubtedly made you happy. Mattel has ditched the outdated mindset that female wrestlers don’t sell and has made commendable strides to have at least one female per lineup. And more recently we’ve seen a few Basic series that have more than one female wrestler. The Diva Revolution is real in the figure aisle.

That same loving attention has yet to fully expand to the previous golden age of modern WWE wrestling – The Attitude Era, which had just as stacked (no pun intended) and talented a women’s division. The release of the Elite 41 Lita was the first in nearly 20 waves to provide Trish Stratus an Attitude Era opponent. So it’s time for an Attitude Era female wrestler wish list.

This isn’t the hottest diva/female personality wish list, so no Torrie Wilson, Sable, Stacy Kiebler, etc. This is strictly for the women who could throw down in the ring in more than pillow fights and pudding matches – not that there’s anything wrong with that . . . I also left out Chyna because it seems kinda tacky asking for her figure not even a week since she died, especially since she never reconciled with the WWE. That said, let’s start the list!

Jazz

wwe - jazzMore of a powerhouse than the traditional female grappler of her time, Jazz could physically dominate her opponents in a way that no one but Chyna could. Unlike Chyna, Jazz could have good matches with the members of the female division. She’s probably a super long shot to ever get a figure, but she’d be one I’d love to add to the ranks.

Molly Holly

wwe - molly hollyOne of the more underrated members of the women’s division, Molly Holly was a solid all-around performer, even if she doesn’t get enough credit due to her more modest attitude and ring attire. I’m kinda torn on the best look for Molly. Her debuting Holly attire would be fine provided we get an eventual Hardcore and Crash Holly. Mighty Molly would be a lot of fun, but with Shane Helms, aka Hurricane Helms, in TNA, that wouldn’t make sense. That leaves regular Molly, which, while not the most exciting attire option, is the one that best represents her solo run.

Jacqueline

wwe - JacquelineOne of the forerunners of the fledgling division that previously only had Sunny, Sable, and Chyna. The 2016 Hall of Famer was vital in guiding the careers of stars like Lita and Trish Stratus. Her run as the foil to Sable led to some of the most memorable moments in the history of the Attitude Era, including Jackie unintentionally reminding fans of the unexpected consequences of strutting around in a string bikini. Beyond those risqué moments, Jackie was easily one of the more reliable female heels of the Attitude Era — a role that was completely believable despite her smaller stature. With her Hall of Fame induction, Jackie’s chances of getting a figure made have definitely improved.

Ivory

wwe ivoryA major player in women’s wrestling since the late ’80s, Ivory finally got her deserved time in the spotlight upon joining the WWF at the peak of the Attitude Era. Initially miscast as a feisty second to Mark Henry and D-Lo Brown, Ivory found her true calling after splitting with the ex-Nation of Domination members and focused on her own career. Unless her Right to Censor pals get figures, the schoolteacher look is out, but the three-time champ has plenty of other colorful attire choices.

Victoria

wwe - victoriaIn terms of in-ring performers during this era, Victoria would easily be on the Mount Rushmore of the WWF women’s division. She was a great psychotic heel and her feud with Trish Stratus was one of the better ones during that time frame regardless of gender.

Those are my picks. Who would you like to see?
