Bandai hasn’t officially solicited or sent out promotional pictures of the model kit Captain Phasma from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but a new teaser picture has popped up online.
I can’t tell you where this picture comes from, only that it was sent to me and that it shows more pictures of BB-8 and R2-D2. We’ve already seen promotional pictures of them though, so no huge surprise there. We’ve also seen Phasma unpainted, so seeing her in finished form is awesome.
A few of things here:
R2 looks to include all the same attachments as the first release. Not surprising, the sprue tree is probably all exactly the same.
BB-8’s head is a separate piece, supported by a stand and the body ball is just sitting in a cup underneath. I don’t know how much I like this, but I’ll find out since I already have it on pre-order.
We all hoped Phasma would be chrome shiny like the C-3PO model, and it looks like she will be. YEEESSSSSS! I can keep the Black Series or Figuarts as a battle worn version, the model for a nice shiny clean version. The pic is dark so it’s hard to tell what is going on with the cape, but it looks like it’s hinged in some way.
The R2 and BB-8 is set to release in December. Hopefully the Phasma kit will be solicited soon. The S.H. Figuarts Phasma releases in February, so will the kit come out about the same time? We’ve also seen a Shadow Trooper in final form so maybe that will be solicited/released first?
