It’s been a while since I’ve been able to just sit and whittle away a Sunday hunting around eBay. Busy summer. But today is rainy and I’m in a shelf sprucing prop kind of mood, so here’s some of the most uncomfortable looking seats from the MOTU and Marvel universes!
I wish I had more space for dioramas and such. Way back in the day when I finished my (now sorely out-dated) Agent X custom set I played with the idea of an amusement park setting for them to hang in. But funds and space killed that idea. I’d need a whole tabletop for that kind of thing. But stuff like this, thrones and objects that double as a display space, that I can get behind.
First up is a throne set that can work across several different collections. Any 6 to 7 inch scale line really, but I like the idea of putting Thanos on a throne the most. His figures so far don’t really lend themselves to a sitting position because of his manly skirt but they can be fudged.

Keeping with the Thanos throne theme, here’s one inspired by the Marvel cinematic universe. The floating rock and base just looks cool.
Switching gears to Masters of the Universe Classics, Skeletor is another character that I mostly picture lounging back, overseeing his dastardly yet futile schemes. I’ve always thought it would be awesome to put him front and center in a throne made of bone, but not being MattK is a major drawback to doing that myself. So this is a good alternative.

Sure, it may look either large and small depending on what version, or even episode, you adhere to…
…but it works.

Now someone needs make some tiny seats for the henchmen to sit around the table. Cubes. Whatever.
Finally, Hordak’s throne. I don’t remember this one as well since I haven’t went back and watched She-Ra, but an image search tells me it’s there.
