I’m used to seeing some off the wall things on Variant Play Arts Kai figures. Catwoman is no exception.
Now, before I say anything else, let it be known that I can appreciate change. And that’s the whole point of the Variant PAK line, re-imagining well known properties, and Catwoman here is no different than the Vader and Thor and various other characters that have been put through the same process. After the initial shock of seeing the spiked tail I grew to like this design. The whip has always represented a tail to further the cat motif. A barbed tail weapon is just a spin on that, and the futuristic helmet is the next logical step after the addition of the modern Catwoman goggles. The gun is an odd addition though…
But really, like the other figures, the design is just amped up to 10. It’s a fun little line that spins what we know, and that’s not a terrible thing.
