The Batman Black and White statue series from DC Collectibles continues with this Entertainment Earth exclusive. Based on the art of Tony Millionaire, this is sure to bring a very unique spin to your Dark Knight collection.
One of the many great things that comes along with being Batman is that just about every comic artist on the planet wants to take a crack at penciling one of your funny books. So, the Bats has a long and storied history with a diverse cross-section of artists. Sure, there are some guys that you would call “typical” or “iconic,” your Neal Adams and such, but it is cool to see different takes on the Dark Knight.
So, when you think of iconic Batman artists, Tony Millionaire doesn’t exactly come to mind, but his interpretation of Bruce Wayne’s alter ego is certainly a memorable one. So much so that the crew at DC Collectibles have immortalized this look in a statue from the Batman Black and White line. It does make for a pretty striking display piece, and the cape is one of the most impressive pieces from this statue series. Millionaire’s style is almost haunting with a bit of an old-timey feel to it, so even if your shelf is jam-packed full of Batman statues already, chances are you don’t have one that looks like this.
Entertainment Earth has swooped in to make this an exclusive to their store, so that is the only place you are going to get it. It is about 8 inches tall and has a separate base piece (needed to stand the figure) that actually allows this Batman to “step” off of it and into your real life. I don’t know if a statue coming off of the base is like breaking the fourth wall to me, but this Batman looks like he is going to get up close and talk right to the camera.
