The 2015 International Tokyo Toy Show is going on right now and Bandai is there showing off some Star Wars model kit goodness!
First of all, let’s get some of the things we’ve seen out of the way. The Biker Scouts, set to drop in just a couple of weeks, look absolutely fantastic mixed in with the Stormtrooper army. Also making another appearance is that mysterious TIE Advanced. That’s a lot of detail for a show display piece. Please please please let that be a future model kit.
Speaking of mysterious, what is the deal with this 1:1 Scale Model Stormtrooper? It’s displayed with the 1:12 version, so maybe it’s just a neat item to drag around to shows. If it’s going to actually be for sale in the future I’m going to have to sell my teenage daughter’s car. Sorry Court, daddy gotta have a huge action figure.
Finally, like the title says, they are showing a prototype of Boba Fett. The placard below the figure shows him in his Empire Strikes Back uniform. If that’s how the final figure is going to look, color me ecstatic. We already have a few versions of ROTJ Fett, ESB will be most welcome on my shelf. [Edit: My brain is scrambled after a long day at work. It’s the ROTJ Fett we need. I’m not going to turn down another ESB Fett in model kit form though.] And it makes sense to use the ESB version for a model kit, less colors to incorporate into the pieces.
The “No Photography” sign is more of a guideline….
Thanks to Fwoosher dukefett for pointing me in the direction of the Boba Fett, and both AmiAmi and Hobby Search for the other pics. Check out both sites for a huge amount of coverage from International Tokyo Toy Show 2015.
