DC Collectibles: SDCC Exclusive Jim Lee Sketch Batman Figure

SDCC exclusive DCC Jim Lee Sketch Batman figure FeaturedI love figures like this. The black and white, the faked shading. Pics almost make you think it’s a cardboard cutout until you adjust your brain to think otherwise.

This reminds me of an articulated Black and White statue. Well, that’s exactly what it is, but I wanted to get that out of the way and that was the most obvious way to state it. But yeah, those statues, the NECA black and white TMNT figures, even NECA’s 8-bit figures, they all hold a special place in my toy lovin’ heart because of the paint jobs. Flat panels brought to life.

The SDCC exclusive Blue Line Batman figure is 7-inch scale and will cost $40. It includes the figure in a snazzy box which includes a preprinted sketch of Batman by Jim Lee. This version of the set is also up for pre-order on Action Figure Xpress for either pick-up at the show or to be shipped afterwards.

A “deluxe” $300 edition, limited to a run of 150 for the show, will come with a piece of original Lee artwork featuring either Batman, the Joker or Harley Quinn. 50 of each character. That’s a lot of sketching!

Here’s Lee himself giving the rundown.

With ICONS on the horizon I’ve slowed down on the 7 inch scale purchases from DCC but I may not be able to pass this one up. Curse you, pencil shading!
