Eeek! Is May already almost over? It’s almost June and the release of the Biker Scout with Speeder Bike model is almost here so Bandai has posted new pictures!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you know that these models are my new action figure obsession. I still buy all my other mainstays, mostly Marvel Legends and some Star Wars Black Series, a little NECA and DCC. But these model kits, man, these model kits. Fun to build, nice to play with, awesome to display. They are slowly replacing my Black Series figures in the display, or at least moving them to the back. Which isn’t a bad thing. Remember the days when we wanted good six inch scale Star Wars figures? Well, that time is now and there are a lot of options.
The set’s SRP is $45. I snagged my pre-order at AmiAmi for $31, but they are now sold out. In fact, doing a quick search reveals most of the usual overseas outlets are sold out. Third parties on Amazon have been good about putting them up for decent prices after release so don’t worry too much.
This is what I was wanting to see the most, the trooper off the bike. And he looks glorious. He comes with a Death Star base, two open palm hands, two grip hands, and a gun grip hand. And a tiny little gun. And a full size speeder…
The details here are fantastic. That’s to be expected with each teeny tiny detail being a separate piece. A little bit frustrating during the build but soooo worth it. I kind of doubt the actual finished speeder will look this weathered unless the are decals with the scorch marks and such. The bike itself also comes with a base, looking like Endor and seemingly pegging into the side of the bike to fake floating.
C’mon end of June!
