Bandai is at the 2015 54th Shizuoka Hobby Show and they are showing off their new 6-inch Star Wars model kits!
The Sandtrooper and Speeder Bike/Biker Scout were already announced but it’s great to see them in all their plastic glory.
The Biker scout is due at the end of June, which is too far away for this plastic junkie’s next fix of these awesome model kits. The Endor base is looking great and the overall piece may just push the Black Series version to the back of the shelf. Again, like previous kits have done. You can pre-order the set at AmiAmi for $32.
The Sandtrooper is pretty much what we expected, a reuse of the Stormtrooper. Which is okay, but it ends up looking too clean like the astromechs. That’s just one of the restrictions of it being a model kit, molded in the base colors. A little paint though and bam, dirty Sandtrooper. MSRP is $23.
The display itself at the show is amazing. This many Stormtroopers is a near impossible feat. Mybe when I retire. The model AT-AT and Y-wing are also looking great. What interests me is the seemingly 1:12 scale TIE Advanced at the top of the display. Is it sad to wish that it was a model and not part of the display? The calender off to the left says “To be Continued” so the line is definitely going on. So exciting, can’t wait for the next announcements.
