Bandai: S.H. Figuarts Sasuke

Bandai S.H. Figuarts Naruto Sasuke featured

Bandai’s second figure of the Naruto Shippuden Sasuke. As many that follow the manga and anime, Sasuke is a killer character and a definite favorite, he’s a dark hero of the Dark Knight and Wolverine cut.

It’s great that Bandai released Sasuke as the second character in the line-up as he is Naruto’s mirror, as Naruto navigates through the world as a hero, Sasuke takes a darker path. Sasuke is shown in his outfit from Naruto Shippuden where he’s left Team 7 in pursuit of his dark path.

The first figure in the line, Naruto, was reviewed last year and it is with great pleasure to report that Sasuke carries the same great craftsmanship as the the previous figure. Sasuke is loaded with articulation and an excellent sculpt, and with plenty of hands and accessories to keep idle hands busy for some time. I was concerned about the sculpt at first as I thought it might be difficult for Bandai to make work, but their engineering of the apron is key. Made from 3 separate pieces the apron has a full range of motion that makes posing limitless. Even the rope belt is is articulated with a ball and socket joint to allow for maximum posing!

As a result the sculpt of the figure is spot on. Sasuke looks like the Ninja bad ass that he is. The figure isn’t tall, he maintains a young adult scaling like Naruto and is a great fit to the One Piece and DragonBall Z Collections in S.H. Figuarts. And for those of you interested in building your collection of ninja related action figures, Sasuke fits right in.

Sasuke is packed with the usual S.H. Figuarts articulation, and as mentioned before it all works. This ninja is able to get into any position you can imagine and look good while doing it. The figure is hand candy and I’ve been handling him non stop with great pleasure for the past few days. There are no issues with the joints, everything is nice and tight and the range of motions are perfect. Bandai, like figma, has their articulation down pat and leaves little to desire. Here’s the breakdown:

hinged feet
ball ankles

The figure come with the usual extra accessories, hands, faces, hair, a sword, and energy ball. The sword comes sheathed or unsheathed, the latter is 2 separate pieces and the sheath is a solid piece of plastic that does not have a whole for the sword. Both the sheathed sword and the sheath fit the rope belt on the back. Perhaps the coolest accessories is the Chidori, Sasuke’s powerful Ninjutsu.

Sasuke is a great addition to S.H. Figuarts and toy collections, it’s a great character and a great toy. Now we just need Sakura and Karachi to complete the line!
