My apologies, I got stranded in NYC an extra day due to weather after finishing up Toy Fair, only to get waylaid by the flu as soon as I got home. But better late than never, we have some cool news from Warpo Toys!
Unless you have been living under a rock the past year or so, you know that Warpo Toys has just recently completed delivery on a very successful Kickstarter for a retro action figure line based off H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos. More than that though, Warpo was able to establish an identity and feel for not only the line, but also for the company.
Talking with Bryan and team, I instantly got the notion that these guys “get it.” I know that sounds rather cliche, but they know that pleasing fans and collectors is priority number one, and with everything that they execute. To me, I think their merchandising and graphic work is every bit as impressive as anything else, and I LOVE the feel that their card backs, coloring books and even their pins elicit. I wish I had Bryan’s graphic skills, a lot of my stuff on this site would look a lot more slick if I did.
Anyhow, I am thrilled that they have gotten the Cthulhu series into retail outlets beyond the Kickstarter and their AWESOME 12-inch Cthulhu figure (pictured) will be out soon as well. Past that, they have a lot of other projects up their sleeves, so I am really excited to see what those might be.
