DC Collectibles- Batman: The Animated Series Action Figure Rundown

DC Collectibles Batman The Animated Series Group

So, here we are, 2014. More than twenty years after Batman: The Animates Series hit our televisions and made even the most die-hard Marvel zombies take notice. For a lot of people the show is the yardstick against which all following Batman cartoons have been measured. The action figure line at the time was pretty good. For it’s time.

Now, DC Collectibles has revealed more figures from their Batman: The Animated Series line and they are oh so sweet looking. I was excited about the Arkham Asylum line when it was revealed. Same for the Capullo line. This line trumps both of those. So indulge me, I’m putting all the pics and info here into one article so that I don’t have to go searching around for the different reveals. That way I only have to click once to commence drooling on my keyboard.

Series 1 will have the main man himself, Batman, along with Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, and Two-Face. MSRP is the usual $24.99 but you can find them on preorder at $21.99 already, like at BigBadToyStore. Release date is for 3rd quarter of 2014.

Articulation is abundant for figures based on an animated property. The only big point missing is a torso swivel or ab crunch (except for Mr. Freeze) but like I said, animated property. I’m okay with this, others may not be.

Series 2 is set to release in December 2014 and will bring us Robin, Joker, Poison Ivy, and Man-Bat.

Man-Bat is the newest reveal and looks to be missing a lot of articulation. Is this the final figure or a digital sculpt? Surely he’ll at least have elbows, or speculation is that he may have swappable arms for a wings spread look. More leg articulation may be tricky. More joints may cause instability in such a top heavy figure.

Seeing them all together like this, I must have them all. And then some. What will Series 3, if it happens, bring? Me, I’m hoping for a Harley. She is my biggest want behind what’s already been shown. Then it falls into “anyone and everyone” territory. But if we only get these two waves the only incompleteness I will feel will be Harley.

You can preorder these on BigBadToyStore right now!
