I held off on posting last night because there wasn’t really a lot going on, but today brought on a lot of goodies to talk about! I’m talking floodgates opened. There’s so much I already have something to write about tomorrow and that’s a rare thing. Belly up! It’s Happy Hour!
Pictures of Medicom’s MAFEX Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure popped up today!
I’ve been looking around for a good price on Medicom’s first MAFEX Spider-Man and…it’s not pretty. Well, the figure is but the price isn’t. Just looking at Amazon, the prices are insane. So this will sate my appetite.
The positives:
1) It’ll be cheaper than the first MAFEX is currently going for, running about $30 at AmiAmi.
B) It’s in the new costume which is more comic accurate even though I didn’t mind the changes made to the first movie costume at all.
The negatives:
A) The silver color of the webs is throwing me off. They make me think Tobey Spidey, and I’d rather not do that. Hopefully this will be changed before final production.
2) This may be just me, or others that are used to just buying american style action figures, but a few of the joints are ugly. I understand that’s completely personal opinion on my part. I also understand the sacrifices to aesthetics that must be made to achieve greater range of movement. We’re dealing with solid type plastic here, it doesn’t give like rubber or even skin, so if there’s plastic in the way the joint can’t move. Basic physics. So I can let this one slide if I can get him into awesome Spider-Man poses.
I’ve read in places that he’ll be released in September and confirmed on AmiAmi, but if my browser is translating correctly the TAG Hobby site states April. Either date seems like too long to wait.

Also, down in the comments it’s stated that Marvel Select Superior Spider-Man may possibly be coming this month. We haven’t even seen good publicity shots so I’m eager to see what the final product looks like.
