You know, I see a lot of hate thrown around. Towards toy companies, towards comic companies, towards characters and choices and even certain aspect of articulation. And it’s hard for me to understand sometimes. Anyone who has been around me for any amount of time knows I’m fairly easy going. I like toys. I like movies. I like comics. If I find something I don’t like I go find something else to mess around with. I don’t really dwell on seemingly bad choices that are out of my hands. You burn me once, I move on. And I say I don’t understand the hate, which is true, but I can also see why people do it. Passion. It’s passion that drives someone to become so angry that they feel they must let it out however they can. And that’s what forums are for. As passionate as I sometimes feel about something I’ve been doing this long enough to know that my passion is only a one way street. I either love something or I pay no attention to it at all. I sometimes wish I could join in but I just can’t make myself do it. I may need to see a toy psychologist. But that’s what the bar is for! Belly up, it’s Happy Hour!
Pictures of Walking Dead Series 5 and the Daryl with Chopper boxset have been popping up and they look fantastic!
My wife collects these but I do most of the buying. It keeps me out of hot water when I buy figures for me and add a few Walking Dead figures in the mix, ha! For me, these figures have been hit and miss. Some look great, some look terrible. Same with articulation schemes, but those seem to be getting better with each series.
We are both excited as hell to get a new, nicer Daryl. I’m really hoping the final product looks close to what is being shown. It’s a slight downgrade from the prototype pictures but still looks pretty good. And anything is better than the previous “locked in one pose” figure. And she can’t wait to add Glenn, Tyreese, and Maggie to the mix. Like I said, we hope most of the proto paint makes through to the final figures.
Series 5 is set to drop in January or February, with Daryl following in March. You can pre-order these from either BigBadToyStore or Entertainment Earth.
CustomCon 36 was unveiled this week over at ActionFigurePics.com and it looked to be a great show! A lot of Fwooshers entered, but everyone from all over the toy community did an amazing job.
You can see all the entries here.
The good thing about Christmas time, besides the family and friends and religious connotations for some people, is the cheap toys! You never know what is going to drop in price. Here’s some deals from around the net.
I’ve already posted about these figures twice, but the Classic TV Batman figures just continue to get cheaper and cheaper. I’m guessing this is going to be about bottom of the barrel. Amazon can’t be making any money on these.
Batman and Robin 2 pack for 13.06
Joker for $4.33
Riddler for $4.57
Penguin for $5.36
Catwoman for $6.70
Surfs Up Batman for $4.14
Amazon also has their exclusive Slave 1 for $41.99.
Speaking of Star Wars, a lot of of the 6 inch Black Series has sold out but Greedo is still in stock and has dropped to $9.00! Time to make your Beedo figure!
And not “cheap”, but Wal*Mart of all places has the Minimates Deadpool Assemble boxset in stock for $19.99.
And then there’s this…
That is the most awesome Salvation Army bell ringer I’ve ever seen!
Happy Hour’s over!
