Dark Souls has become more than just a passion, more than just an obsession it is a way of life in my family. My sons, 7 and almost 11 play it, I play it and my wife puts up with it. Video Games have been around my entire youth and my children are growing up with them. Video Games are the pop culture influence that Star Wars for me. Dark Souls is religion for us.
We play Dark Souls as much as possible, taking half hour turns during our allotted game times. My sons ask me if we can get Dark Souls action figures and when I make dioramas or customs they ask if they are Dark Souls related. My son remarked on a recent diorama saying that it looked like Lost Izalith.
Recently Bandai/Namco announced the release of a PC version and today they made that announcement official. There will be a PC version of the popular XBox and PS3 game with additional content. I showed my sons the youtube video and they immediately asked if we can get it for the PC, one of them remarking that we needed a PC (opposed to the laptops in the house). I’m holding out for DLC, and can only hope that I am rewarded; but with Dark Souls, I expected to be punished and disappointed just like the game.
