The Spy Monkey guys are back with a brand new series of cool weapons for your 6-7 inch action figures! They are the same high quality pieces you’ve come to expect from Spy Monkey Creations, but now they are a lot cheaper and there is a super fun customization element. If you aren’t familiar with Spy Monkey Creations Inc., they have designed and sold several different hand cast accessories for 6 inch scale action figures. You can see a list of their retired items on their website here. These sets go on sale tomorrow, so click through for more pics of these great new toys!

I first saw hints of the new direction for Spy Monkey Creations Inc. at power con where they showed off a prototype of their new war hammer Dominar (included in armory series 1!) and was immediately on board. Armory series one represents a step forward for the guys in that these items are now factory produced in PVC and ABS plastic just like the accessories for all your favorite action figure lines. This allows for a high quality product, lowers the price, and they have added the customization element (more on the customization later). Series one comes in 5 different colorways in addition to Bloodlust shown above:

The Spy Monkey guys were kind enough to send me a couple of sets to review in the Bloodlust and Cold Steel colorways. Out of the package you get three great swords (The Master Blade, The Demon Sabre, The Falcon Sabre), a massive battle axe (DOMINAR!), and a war shield. If you only ever used these items straight out of the package as is, I think you will have got your money’s worth right there, but there is so much more you can do…

The bloodlust set looks really nice with Horde characters with their red and black dominated costumes.

I also like the look of this colorway with my Toypocalypse Black Scarabus exclusive.

As they are, the weapons can go with any number of 6 inch scale figures. I’m thinking MOTUC, DCUC, Marvel Legends, Fantastic Exclusive as those are my main areas of interest. I bet they would look good with the Bandai Thundercats…

Here’s where the customization comes in. Each weapon can be broken down into component parts. The parts attach through Onell Design Glyos System pegs and can be rearranged and combined in an infinite number of ways and combined with any other Onell figures or the 4H’s OuterSpacemen. This is where the fun begins…

The handles for the shields can be combined with other parts to make a nasty looking knuckle duster. The cool thing about that is you can use that assemblage to make weapons that guys with open hands can hold, guys like..

It’s not a perfect solution for Stratos’ weapons deficit, but I like it. If you aren’t a fan of transluscent blades, you can combine Cold Steel and the Bloodlust sets:

I think the combo of Cold Steel and Bloodlust colorways look great with Wun-Dar.

There is a cool little adapter peg that allows you to attach any of your creations to MOTU figures like Trap Jaw, Hordak and Roboto as well:

I was also able to combine some Glyos figures, Arsenal Series One and Outer Space Men parts with the recent Tallstar figure.
