Thor (Thor Odinson)

Thor is the Asgardian Superhero in the Marvel Universe that smites his foes with a hammer. He’s got long blonde locks and speaks in olde english making him uber cool. We’ve seen a few incarnations of Thor in Marvel Toys, check the listing at Marvel.com and pics down below.

Thor at Marvel.com

Ages ago, Odin, lord of the gods of Asgard, desired a child of both Asgard and Midgard (Earth), and therefore sought out and wooed Gaea, the eldest goddess of the Earth. Gaea gave birth to Thor in a small cave in Norway, and Odin took him to be raised in Asgard by his wife, Frigga.

The young Thor grew up alongside his step-brother Loki, who was always jealous of Thor, the favored son. Thor excelled in power and popularity, and on his eighth birthday, Odin had the hammer Mjolnir created, enchanting it with powerful magic. He decreed that Mjolnir would be presented to Thor when he had been proven a worthy warrior, and Thor spent the next several years training and performing heroic deeds. Indeed, eight years later, Odin gave the hammer to Thor, declaring him to be the greatest warrior in Asgard.

  1. I agree with the above post.
Marvel Legends 6″ should be re-visited with a quality approach of the early days.
We love these Marvel Heroes…and to have poorly designed action figures is a complete shame.
Hasbro should hire excellent sculptors and rethink the articulation on the 6′ line… and give us — the action figure collectors— the wonderful ACTION FIGURES that these Marvel heroes deserve.
Many of us have stopped buying the Marvel action figures because they are so badly done.
I believe there is a market out there for good quality, well-sculpted, well-articulated Marvel Heroes. A BIG market.
Because sooo many of us love the Marvel heroes!! We just want better quality action figures.

  2. You know I personally love Thor as a character in all of his incarnations. From his mythology to the comics, from Thor to Thunderstrike to beta Ray Bill to Drako of 2099 to ultimate to Red Norvell and back Hell even Pruin. Now I hate the 4 inch figs so lets just throw this out. The Marvel Select figures have the right size and the sculpts are great but the articulation stinks. The ML wave is inconsistent size wise; but overall has the best variety and best articulation. the best of these being the God Thor from the blob series. So lets take every thing I said into consideration the best of these figs is Modern Marvel Select Thor. (What I was sure he was going to promote ML) I have to say I enjoy this figure the most. Because outside of a fur cape he looks most like what I expect a modern Thor to look like. Now saying that I would really like to see a ML Modern version that I didn’t have to make my self.
Fact is I would like to see Hasbro pull there collective heads out and go back to what made ML the best figure series ever and make a Thor Line (kind of like the fin Fang Foom Line) with a build a figure Ymir the frost giant or Sutur the fire giant, (Or if they had to save money) a Volstagg the voluminous. In the set should be Thor Obviously, Odin, Lady Sif, Loki, Hemidell, Hogun the grim, Fandral, Valkryie Brunhielda, and Thunderstrike, and Volstagg if the are not using him as a build a fig. And remembering scale is important.
But as we know the collective Hasbro IQ is the equivalent of that of a babbling retarded baby. They are more concerned about cutting cost than the customers or fans. But if anyone there has half a brain they will make this a 6 inch scale wave before the movie comes out.
If not maybe Marvel will wake up and go back to making the Toy biz line. But I digress into my dreams. But I will give Hasbro this much they did great with the Ironman line thus far and the figures they have made since taking over ML I just wish they would realize we already collected all these figs and now they expect us to pay the same for 4 inch figs that are articulated just better than star-wars figs. I mean seriously 6 inch is way better and the detail and articulation is so much cooler. They can’t stop making 4inch starwars figs they have only made C3po how many times I mean seriously if anything they should remake that series in 6 inch since they haven’t got an original idea in there anymore. Hell a 6 inch GI Joe would be cool to and no Sigma 6 was a dumb idea too. so don’t say we tried a bigger scale and it failed you didn’t pay attention to you customers or you would have made ML stylized figs.
