Custom of the Year extends deadline!

Entries also sought in underrepresented categories.

http://www.customoftheyear.com (January 30, 2006). The 2nd annual Custom of the Year awards is extending its deadline to 11:59pm EST on Friday, February 3rd, 2006.

“This year has been a year of change for the awards,” said Custom of the Year founder Tommy Sanchez, “and to insure that all participants have time to adjust to and review the rules, I felt that extending the deadline would benefit everybody involved.”

The deadline extension will not affect the timeline for the rest of the Custom of the Year awards. The deadline also gives participants a chance to boost some of the underrepresented awards from last year.

“There’s a huge community out there for Star Wars, Muppets, He-man, and I’d love to see representation for those categories grow,” continued Mr. Sanchez, “In addition we have the new category for Breakthrough Customizer that’s going to be a tough one for many to judge.”

The category of Breakthrough Customizer was accidentally left off of the instructions on how to enter but could be found in the rules page at http://www.customoftheyear.com/custom.rules.html.

The nominating judges for this year include Eric “Cornboy” Mayse of Four Horsemen Studios, Jerry Macaluso, President of SOTA Toys Inc., Kat Sapene, head painter at SOTA Toys Inc., Daniel "Julius Marx" Pickett of Action Figure Insider, and Michael Crawford of Michael’s Review of the Week. The five person committee of judges will vote on entries in all categories to determine nominees. Nominees will then be voted on by the public.

The judges nominations will be made public on March 15th. Voting will end by the public on March 24th and winners announced and posted on March 27th. Categories included this year run the gamut of Best Sculpture, Best Website, Best Marvel, and, of course, Custom of the Year.
