There’s a UK place, Toysarama, that sells build a figures for 50 to 60 quid, so 50 quid for this seems ok.

I just got the same. That is a surprise to be sure, but a good one. I just shipped my POL, but now I will be tempted too again. I have wanted Blob for a long time. I tried putting together the BAF, but it was too expensive.

LOL, I'm in the same boat - I just had them ship my Pile of Loot with the retro card wave and comic Moon Knight and today I got notification for Blob and villain 5-pack. BBTS orginally had these both down as May releases, I wonder if that means the two X-Men 3 packs are Franklin/Valeria will be hitting soon also since they had the same expected release date...

Good to know both sets are starting to get fulfilled. I don't order from BBTS because they charge a little more than even Pulse. But this is a nice heads up to get ready for a couple of big charges.

BaFs aren't going anywhere. If you just look at some of these posts, people (myself included) have bought figures in the past they could care less about just to get the part. Some people offload the extra figure, some throw it in a bin, for storage or fodder, what have you. But the bottom line is the figure isn't on the peg anymore. Hasbro calls that a sale. Now, with rising prices and the fact I honestly couldn't care less about most of the stuff they've made, I haven't bought a whole wave in years. Last one was probably Strong Guy, that whole wave and the BaF was worth it. As for single figures though, I've cherry picked quite a few, with a bunch of useless BaF pieces sitting in a box somewhere I will never use. And most of the BaFs didn't appeal to me beyond those anyway. At this point, I'd rather pay the $50 for a deluxe I really want then triple that for a whole wave of shit I really don't care much about to get a BaF I really want, which I have not done for a long time. And since these figures almost always go on sale at some point, whether it be Gamestop or Amazon ect... I won't even pay $50+ for it. I'll wait for a sale or live without. Idc about Blob enough to pay more. Now if they did say a DP2 movie Juggernaut, I would probably bite on that. Or a new Alfred Molina Doc Oc with really well done Oc arms. If the arms are shit they may as well not even bother.

Up until now they've had two models
1. BAF wave, wherein there is a compulsion to buy the whole wave if you want the BAF, but the BAF is essentially "free"
2. Retro wave + Deluxe releases, wherein there is no compulsion to buy figures you don't want but the figures are a worse value due to the separate charge for the Deluxe BAF equivalent.

The Howard the Duck figure release shows they are willing to go with the worst of both worlds: compel the full wave purchase per the BAF model but also require payment specifically for a BAF piece absent a fully articulated figure. That the BAF piece was packed as the main "figure" and the Duck as a minimally articulated accessory really underscored this. I think this is a bad development.

Same here. I have SHF SS4 Vegeta, Longshot and Black Series Mara Jade sitting in my POL so if Blob gets here soon, that'll be a very fun haul.

I had a bunch of stuff hit at once so I finally shipped my PoL and the very next day I got notifications for like 4 more things. So now I just shipped that PoL two days ago.

Blob will be sitting alone in there for a while. That's just going to be the way it is.

I unfortunately shipped my pol yesterday so unlucky me like some of the rest of you. And it was the entire thing too so now ill have little else to keep blob company soon
