ML Part Swaps

Elektra's wild 80's hair sent my mind racing on it's uses. People have said about perfect reuse for Calypso, I think it'd be great for 80's She-Hulk, and maschine9 commented in the Daredevil 3-pack thread about how it should have been used for Dark Phoenix.




I gave it a go and it's not bad at all.

"Not bad" - it's GREAT! Did it swap easily? Was there a headband part you had to work around or fill in?

Dang it, now I'm gonna have to buy this pack I really don't want for ONE PART. But hey - whoever wanted a bald Elektra - I'll have one! ;)

The headband is part of the headsculpt so no issue there. I did have to dremel out the hair so the Dark Phoenix head sits snuggly but it wasn't more than 2 minutes work (if you're comfortable with that, otherwise I would have took my xacto knife and hacked away at the back of the head to get the same result).

I thought for sure I saw this swap here, but I went as far back as late October and couldn't find it (unless I missed it). Anywho, here we have the new Daredevil with HoX Professor X's telepathy effect to suggest Daredevil is using his radar ability. I think it really does improve the figure.

Yeah I put that in the thread for the 3-pack, did you glue your radar effect on or also make use of the notch cut in the back of the neck?

I’m a bit tempted to acquire more of them now to add one to the unmasked Matt head that came with the retro card armoured DD but that would def require drilling a hole and I try to avoid destructive mods wherever possible.

Ahhh, okay! I just used that ugly notch in his neck to hold the radar sense snugly in place.

If anyone is willing to try it, I was thinking that the hair on the new Rouge figure might be a good replacement for the hair on the 3pk Kitty Pryde, and the hair on the new Banshee might look good on the most recent Sabretooth figure.

Anyone know if any Marvel Legends BAF parts are straight compatible with Dragon Stars BAF? Specifically wondering about ML arms into Dragon Stars torso or heads.

I gave it a go and it's not bad at all. Very reminiscent of the original 80's artwork and more recent stuff based off that depiction. It's not completely grown on me but it's a nice alternative.

A few years ago, back when I turned the 2014 figure into a custom of his classic look, I bought a cheap ToyBiz Zemo chase figure with the unmasked, melted-looking face. That's actually supposed to be Helmut's face, but I'm not sure how it'll scale with the new body Zemo uses (as opposed to the Bucky Cap base figure of the previous comic Zemo in 2014).

The only other head, from Hasbro, that I can think of being ugly enough would be Jigsaw, but I feel like that would be a lot of work to make look right for Zemo.

Zemo's face is basically melted. Grab a head you don't need and put a lighter to in in different places.
