The new unmasked head is better. The rest is barely noticable if at all. Maybe if I see it on sale. But otherwise I'll probably skip these. He has a new torso too. It looks a little leaner. They did that to accommodate the divisive new neck joints.

I think one other difference I've noticed is that the coin Morpher bucket is now stamped on instead of being sculpted on.

If those black lines are a huge issue, there are $3 Gundam pens that will solve that problem.

Blue and Yellow were both pretty accurate the first time around, IMO. The big thing for me will be the Red, Green, and Pink reveals. Trust me, I am LOOKING for excuses to not go in on these so I HOPE we can balk at those the same way we are balking at Blue.

The morpher being stamped on is gonna be a big mess. I've had a few of the MMPR figures where the paint is aligned wrong and it's all off to one side or another on the belt. But with all the lines and sculpting, repainting them was easy. And with the morpher being sculpted, the symbols were still fine after just some repainting. If this happens with the stamped on morphers, you'll need a replacement. Painting those little details is near impossible, at least for me. I would honestly consider swapping the belts just because I prefer the sculpted morphers if I got these. I get why they're doing it (reuse), but it's a step backwards, especially when they have the belts already sculpted with the morphers anyway. It's not like they'd need to make new parts.

I don't know what's more accurate to the source material, but I prefer the darker blue of the original release to the updated one. If the blues match between the torso and limbs better that would be worth the trade-off, though worth an upgrade? I don't know. It's hard to tell in the pic, but the torso looks like it's a little darker than the forearms, but it's impossible to say without the figure in-hand. Plus, that wasn't a huge issue for me with the original Blue Ranger and more a problem for Pink and Red. The only thing I don't care for on the original release I have is the white diamonds needed a thicker opacity because the blue shows through. Again, tough to tell if that's any better here and not exactly worth dropping another 35 or whatever this thing costs. Still, it makes too much sense for Hasbro to reissue the MMPR team this year so I'm not mad that they're doing so and implementing minor changes alongside them. Honestly, the thing that makes me want to upgrade most is just having the proper holstered blade blaster for each figure but that's hardly worth the cost of an upgrade.

Dino Charge is all released now, but the quality of the faces varies quite a bit.

Still missing purple. And then the 2nd season extra colors if you wanna go that deep. But I'd still say without Kendall the team is still incomplete, considering, even though she wasn't a ranger, she was there from the beginning.

I think they will get to her, if just to get more use out of the unique parts they made for Shelby.

I think this will be what most people end up doing. There will be ONE out of the six that they feel is a vast improvement, except.....like Ninja Turtles......you can't just buy ONE, so a lot of people will cave on the whole set. Kimberly is one to watch out for. If they knock that one out of the park, people will be all in.

Or we could just buy Kim and put the new head on the old body or just replace only Kim, cause it's not like other teams don't have a mix of pinless and pinned joints. Like the above mentioned Dino Charge team. And Time Force. And Dino Thunder. And I'm gonna guess Lost Galaxy will be like that. And probably SPD. And Wild Force.

Hey, if people can resit the urge to buy the whole team and just get the ones they feel are most in need up updates, more power to them. Are there other Ranger teams that have a mix if pinless and pinned joints? The MMPR reissues are the only ones I know of so far but I admit I don't pay close attention to other teams. For me personally, the uniformity is what gets me. If my Avengers have a mix of the different tooling, no big deal. They all have their own distinct look anyway. MAYBE I will surprise myself and I CAN just replace one or two. Or none! Still undecided.

In Space will have mixed pinless and pin with the new Silver Ranger. Time Force Blue is pinless, Time Force Red has pins. Dino Charge Blue is pinless, but Red, Black, Gold, Green and Green have pins.
