With Walmart's distribution, only 1/3 of their stores would carry it.
Seems a little excessive if one is generously rounding up.
Walmart’s distribution is half that third, then subtract 40% for the scalpers who already obtained the item before it made it to the shelf. Then, drive three hours to another town where you find it even though you weren’t looking for it because you were at that Walmart* looking for ingredients for a side dish at a family function, but took the long way to the grocery section by way of toy department. Thing is, you found said item in sock aisle likely because someone found it earlier and hid it there so they could go to the pronoun specific bathroom.
That would be a more accurate assessment of the Walmart* distribution system.

You are probably right Grumpy. I don’t think it’s going to jump very high but I’m sure by years end basic figures will be $29.99 with deluxe being $39.99 and two packs $65.99 and vehicle packs $80. This economy thing is probably going to show a flat Winter and Spring. I think the price will creep $2-3 by mid and end of year.

It could see fans moving to a 4” option as it will be less than 6” product.

I hope you're wrong. $29.99 basic figures will definitely be past my breaking point and I think a lot of people will feel the same way. Not that I couldn't afford it, but the enjoyment that I get vs. the price paid isn't worth it at that level. I have no interest in 4" figures either.

At $30, no more army building, which I do adore :/

I thought when Legends moved from $15 to $20 I was out on army building. Yes I did decrease but only a bit.

I do not know what economy will be like by years end but I don’t predict it’s going to be favorable. I’m thinking rising costs are not over.

To me the higher the costs will decrease volume of a single character I buy. I will enjoy the ones I can buy. It’s not a volume thing any more as Classified approaches 70 figures. It is funny when I was a kid the only army building I did was the BAT. Army building is more an adult thing.

It’s definitely going to be an over $1000 2023 for Classified.

Just throwing it out there, but Hasbro could always go full price for digital figures you can collect and trade. Think of the possibilities; estore digital exclusives!! The market for that can be whatever you want!!
No?
Me neither.
I rather have an actual figure in hand.

22.99 was always the a decent spike IMO. 24.99 for basic is just gross. I am paying full price on certain figures at that cost but mostly waiting for sales in others and cutting back a lot. 29.99 if it happens will be a definite breaking point for me. At that point its me just waiting for sales on everything and cutting back even more.

It's not apples to apples, but pricing increases like the ones mentioned above is why (for me) nostalgia lines like McFarlane Super Powers, MotU Origins, Playmates new Star Trek line, and even Star Wars retro are becoming more appealing to me. They may not be super-articulated, but they do scratch a different itch for an affordable price. They're all franchises I'm interested in collecting, and I already have a full sets of original O-ring Joes and the 25th/POC Joes for the characters I want. I may cherry pick Classified, but it's easier for me to be more enthusiastic about a line that's more affordable.

Maybe it's not just the size. hehe...

I think the Reaction Joe figures are pretty cool, but when they are priced around 19.99 and are on the same shelf or on a peg below a Classified Joe priced around 22.99- something inside me will not allow that transaction to happen. It's like a pre-programmed prime directive ala RoboCop. At the same time, I will absolutely do a 180 in that same toy aisle and gladly pay 12.99 for a fully articulated 3 3/4 Star Wars figure.
I've already been cherry-picking the Classified line... but so far, I've liked a great deal of them and have purchased dudes that I wasn't expecting to purchase- like Tiger Force Bazooka.

I saw on Twitter Sculpt Manager Cory was laid off. Wasn't he key to having a lot of good stuff work its way into the Classified sculpts?

...was just reading about this on another forum. Fred Azcon from Boss Fight Studios apparently did the head sculpts for a great deal of the Joes, including Major Bludd, Mindbender, Zarana.
Don't know how much affect Corey's absence will have directly.
That being said- this was probably a dream job and I hope he lands on his feet.

HasbroPulse announced a new G.I. Joe Youtube panel next Tuesday, February 14th, at 11 AM EST. They promised reveals and preorders, so that's exciting. Hoping for Chuckles, Sci-Fi, Lifeline, Iron Grenadier Destro, and General Hawk, among others.

I’m hoping one of the Transformers collaborations is shown in addition to renders and actual Joes: R&R, Shipwreck, Torpedo, and Copperhead. Not sure how many more name only reveals they can do. Sure name only reveals are for figures in 2024 by now.

Lots of renders and announcements so far that need real pictures. I wonder if they'll skip renders this go-round.

I'm expecting news on when the Torpedo wave goes up for preorder, maybe real pictures of the recent render reveals, and hopefully a bunch more render reveals.
