1/8" flat elastic cord. Look up some real gun slings online to use as reference. I'm absolutely going to use this to make one for Snake Eyes (the stretchy cord matches his Pursuit of Cobra Commando look really well too). Here's one I made for my MCU Deadpool (using a Valaverse AR):
