Both but especially with NECA, employees and revenue, since action figures is only a piece of their product output. McFarlane Toys is fairly small but also only a part of TMP worldwide. Plus Todd has seniority over Mezco, and perhaps most important, more contacts in all media with multiple factories. At this point I think even Super7 may be larger than Mezco. They certainly have more output. I don't think Mez cares too terribly much about being the biggest. Since the very beginning his company was founded as more indie designer toys & collectibles than mainstream. Hence the "mez spin" on familiar icons much of the time. But I think now that he's established a sub-brand in One:12 he may be more willing to give the hardcore comic purists their wants (i.e. recent Marvel & DC offerings).

Like GD Robin, hopefully.

I mean, I'm sure the pandemic is in some way at least partly responsible. But it's not like Mezco has every really gotten these out in a timely fashion. And I definitely understand the annoyance with out-of-nowhere, instant sellout drops of figures when you've been waiting for a particular figure for over a year.
Doctors Zaius and Fate were both pretty dang timely. 8 and 5 months, I think.

I don't think they delay stuff because they are fixing it.
Agree. Conan is one of their simplest designs thus far. I think it comes down to who they decide to prioritize.

Great, another MDX.

I don't really have any attachment to the character and he looks kinda kitbash-y in that image, but I'll wait to see how he looks in the final images before deciding. Hopefully he's up for pre-order for an entire day like GbG Batman was.

I googled the character because I wasn't sure if he was a Mezco original or pre-existing IP. Not only is he an existing character, but he also had a movie in 2009. I have no memory of this.

It was made in 2009, but wasn't released in the US until like 2014.

He's a Robert E. Howard character. I would've thought more people here would know about him!

Isn't the Solomon Kane character almost 100 years old at this point?

Yep. He was created by Robert Howard (Conan creator) in the 'mid 1920s. His 100 year anniversary is in 7 years.

The movie is actually.. pretty awesome. He's played by Mark Anthony from Rome (James Purefoy). Like, don't get me wrong - it's definitely in the same vein as a lot of '80s fantasy movies and stuff. I wouldn't compare it with like an MCU movie or anything like that in terms of production value. But it's SUPER fun to watch and I really enjoy it. Totally worth your time if you dig fantasy movies.

I can't believe I'm considering pre-ordering another Mezco figure. But I really never expected ANYONE would make a Solomon Kane figure - especially after no one seemed very fussed over the movie - and even that was like a decade ago. Honestly never thought I'd see a toy of him in my lifetime and I really would like to get it if I can.

Ugh. I'd like it, but I can't justify US$60 on shipping and taxes twice in one month.
Stoopid exclusives.
