I'm a mass of conflicting emotions right now. I'm going to have to give all this some thought.

I will definitely get back with you.

Thanks. Seems like a lot of fans are one way or the other on this, not a lot of middle ground. There are a couple things I'm hopeful about, the rest I'm ready for a trailer to sway me.

He described so many different things. It’s pretty much what they have done already only now James Gunn and Peter something, I think it’s Peter, is making the call. I’m not seeing connection other than an environment to unleash the Crisis story.

I am really fascinated by the Blue Bettle. I am curious how they play the scarab. Will it be like Symbiote like Venom? Will it be be sentient iron man nano tech armor? Will it be spider-man in iron spider armor? I like teen hero stories. So I’m curious.

I really dislike the character of Waller. I really like the actress of Viola Davis. She is vicious. It’s basically Peacemaker’s world continuation. I did not like how they shoehorned her into Black Adam. I’m game for more Peacemaker stories.

I didn’t read Authority. I knew of it. I mean on the surface it looks like Snyder-verse gritty Justice League meets Watchmen. Again I think it’s a universe to just give Anti-Monitor fodder. Or maybe they just destroy Snyder-verse on screen. I’m only commenting on how it looks. I didn’t read the book. It’s a very diverse group too. I do know the Superman and Batman are lovers and I guess present a different take on that dynamic.

Sci-Fi Supergirl sounds like Man of Steel.

Lanterns sounds like Arrowverse.

Damien Wayne? I didn’t have a problem with Bruce having adopted sons. A biological son ninja who has to learn to have same moral code as Batman…If I’m going to watch father son dynamic I’d rather see Batman Beyond with Keaton as old Wayne mentoring McGiness. Oh well.

But I mean all these projects are just being said to connect. I personally don’t need them to connect. But if they do in a big event, ok.

He said something about animated voice actors being the same as live action ones. I know they do that in Marvel. But it’s not needed to me. Is that really important to others. Now all Shazam/Captain Marvels are voiced by Zachary Levi. I guess.

Would have preferred it if they built the bat family from the ground up but oh well. Jumping into a fully formed family dynamic could be okay if handled correctly.

I agree about the way Waller is being used. The way she was used in the first Suicide Squad movie to me is the best depiction of her. The way she's depicted in Gunn's stuff where she loses her shit and screams profanities every time something doesn't go her way just for comedic effect and the fact that the League members are treated like walking punchlines is one of the reasons I wasn't jumping for joy when Gunn came onboard.

I don't know how I feel about the slate. I'm happy that it seems like Green Lantern is finally happening. I don't get why we should care about a Booster Gold show or a Swamp Thing movie especially when you had an amazing tv show that was cancelled because of paperwork dealing with taxes. They're probably going to set up for a Justice League Dark but according to the showrunner, they were going to set up a version of the team as well if the show continued. Imagine if they actually got leeway to use all of the characters.

Not excited about Superman and Brave and the Bold, mostly because of the way the studio has been handling the characters because of BvS, Justice League, and all the behind the scenes bs. I'm glad it looks like we'll see a Bat family. I thought Brenton Thwaites and Curran Walters did okay and amazing jobs as Dick and Jason on Titans. It's too bad the show was horrible though. Not sure how I feel about Damien being introduced either. He's okay I guess but I've always preferred Tim as Robin.

No Wonder Woman but we have a Supergirl movie? There were rumors that they were going to do a spin off of the amazons years ago but then it was cancelled. So I guess this was brought back into play.

My biggest concern is that this is basically going to be the MCU 2.0 and an onscreen New 52. Other than the new announcements seeming lackluster that's what it seems like so far IMO.

This has the potential to rival or outshadow the MCU in it's current state.

It's a great slate. Batman, The Batman 2, Superman, Joker 2, Green Lantern, Booster Gold..wow.

Will all of these projects actually make it to production? Nope.

Marvel, despite having a mediocre Phase 4 and a questionable direction, will still be the safer bet for actually delivering.

The Authority intrigues me, because they've got their own Batman and Superman;

To me it’s not A vs. B.

I liked one thing Gunn said the most. It’s about storytelling and he noted and I’m paraphrasing as I don’t remember the exact words unique expressions. I know they will build the DC universe “infinite earths” to face a crisis. But I’m good with great stories told with passion.

To me I don’t have much faith in Warner Brothers creating an MCU. They don’t have the patience.

But I honestly don’t see any difference then and now. Time will tell. I’d like to see stories with Booster Gold. I hope Ted Kord gets to be involved some time. I’m pretty excited about Jaime Reyes Blue Bettle. I like the kids.

So I am curious. Are you seeing the Brave and the Bold as a Bat Family entry point? Like Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon both exists in this world as former apprentices? I took his comments to mean this is Bruce being a dad to a biological son, a family. I’m interested in Bat-family more for sure.

One great thing they've done here is the Elseworlds label. That's unique to DC Films.

And they've got a great start with Elseworlds DC.

The Joker franchise, and The Batman franchise.

Sounds like the JJ Abrams Black Superman project is now part of that Elseworlds Label.

The advantage of Elseworlds is they can attract major A-list talent for Oscar-bait DC films, without fitting it into the DCU.

Zack Snyder, Charles Rovin, Walter Hamada and Geoff Johns are not in charge anymore. James Gunn and Peter Safran are. I'm going to give them a chance. That's only fair.

This is only Chapter 1. And according to Gunn what was announced today is not all of Chapter 1. There's going to be a Wonder Woman movie. Don't know when, but there will be one. She's way too iconic of a character to just ignore.

Swamp Thing is what I'm most excited for of what was announced today. Booster Gold at least sounds interesting, and I was never that into him in the comics though he was part of my favorite Justice League lineup. I realize I'm one of the few, or maybe even only, person whose ideal JL would be Batman, some B listers, and a bunch of D listers.

I hope they do an amazing job with the Authority. I never, ever thought we'd see them on screen. Hoping they lean in on the earliest stuff even though Jenny Sparks inherently puts a time stamp on it (are they crazy enough to set the first film in 1999?). Gawd I loved the original Ellis / Cassaday run. I could talk about that Stormwatch/Authority storyline all day.
