Oof. Did they try to de-age him? It didn't look good. The action scenes with him looked really rough. I'll wait for later trailers to see what's improved upon, but this trailer did not do anything to make me want to see the movie.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Comes out right around my birthday, and reminded me Last Crusade was my birthday movie that year.
Looks fun enough but I dunno. I wasn't super hyped for Crystal Skull even before I heard any reactions to it, and I'll be surprised if I see this in the theater. I still love the original and Last Crusade, even enjoy Temple of Doom but... I guess I'm age-ist or something because I'm not into old Indy. And really, what makes me less excited isn't so much Crystal Skull as Force Awakens. Sorry if it's blasphemy but I really wouldn't have minded a reboot or the Bond treatment.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Well Wheel of Fortune was taken.
It looks like it will be some story about bad guys wanting to use some ancient power to give them an advantage on ruling and Indiana Jones steps in to stop them. Sounds about like Indy.
I am intrigued. Godfather? So is the woman from Marcus Brody lineage?

I wish Steven would have left CG out of the Indy franchise. It was [email protected]#$ terrible in "... Skull" and even if they improve what we've seen in the trailer you know it will still suck.

Hopefully time to tweak. If not, kind of ironic if the plot involves time travel.
Re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Right? A lot of CG locations looking a bit off...at least Skull was able to stay a decade or so short of the Uncanny Valley. I think the shot that bothers me most in this trailer is the unnatural look and movement of Indy's face pasted over the stuntman on the horse rearing back.Mr potatohead wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:53 pmI wish Steven would have left CG out of the Indy franchise. Re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
My thought is that trailer would have done nothing for me if the main character wasn't Indiana Jones. And even with that, it was not that engaging.
And the de-aging didn't look too bad, but the face superimposed on the stunt people was not that great.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
That's a good point, and may be why I'm thought of Force Awakens. I feel their marketing was immediately more exciting because they showed all the new stuff with Han and Chewie saved for the end, but they did the same thing with taking the classic, recognizable music and slowing it down and making it 'more dramatic'. Not only is it a character you've always loved, but we're trying to get you even more emotional about it. And here's a play on a beloved gag from the original. Also, who needs plot indications?

Re: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
I didn't even think it was just the de-aging, the whole thing looked badly animated. Even everything except interiors looked like a totally artificial environment. Even Boyd Holbrook looked like he was superimposed in, and he's not being de-aged. Hopefully it's just unfinished and will look good on screen, but the whole trailer looks like a greenscreen CGI nightmare.
