Obviously not set in stone, and a lot more than just marvel here, but latest Disney schedule for the next few years:

Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
Thanks for that list.
I am still skeptical that Marvel will release no film between end of July 2023 and May 2024. Something has to be added. I know there are a few options to fill in both the 12/1/23 and 2/14/24 dates, curious to me they haven't announced yet.
(Unrelated, but these live action versions of the animated classics need to end. Have any of them actually been better than the animated versions they mimic? (That's a rhetorical question...) Live action Snow White seems like blasphemy. And a Lion King prequel?)

With the marvel slate, I am also skeptical. It's funny thinking about when they had years with only one release, or even 2009 with no releases! But yeah that's the biggest gap they've had in a long time outside of the pandemic. I have to look but I've got the dates saved elsewhere that marvel has booked without announcing titles for. A lot of times those dates go unused, I think, but you never know. Daredevil will be releasing during that window but still not a theatrical release.
Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
I'm the wrong one to rhetorically answer. I don't think I've ever seen both versions of any disney movie. I've rarely seen one version, heh.fac wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 4:18 amThanks for that list.

Has anything been shooting in secret? Zendaya's been missing awards shows filming something.
What is actually already shot at this point? Is it only Quantumania, GOTGv3 and The Marvels? Thunderbolts due to start shooting around May.
Secret Invasion, Loki S2, What If? S2, Agatha and Ironheart - am I forgetting any shows?

Echo. Daredevil starts next month and apparently production is the rest of 2023.

I may have lost the status between D+ show and film, but what about Armor Wars? I thought the rumor was that led into CA: New World Order?
I will note that it says Untitled Disney for both those open dates, not Untitled Marvel, but that could be purposely vague.
I assume another Spider-Man wouldn't be on this list anyway....

Armor Wars is supposed to start filming in April while New World Order is supposed to start in March. Are you thinking Armor Wars could be slipped between The Marvels and New World Order?
I'm not even really sure about the relationships between these movies, but I'd thought maybe NWO might lead, partly, into Thunderbolts. But it may end up being as related as No Way Home was to Multiverse of Madness.
Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
I am pretty sure that's correct, Spider-Man wouldn't be listed on the Disney slate.fac wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 7:48 amI may have lost the status between D+ show and film, but what about Armor Wars? I thought the rumor was that led into CA: New World Order?

I may be mis-remembering from when Armor Wars was going to be on D+, but thought that it was slotting in around the same time as the NWO and Thunderbolts films. There is no place on the schedule for it until after both those films now, and even after Kang Dynasty.
But they could maybe move up NWO to one of those slots? And have Armor Wars take NWO's spot?
Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
If it starts filming after NWO, then I doubt it, as I assume Armor Wars will be more effects laden than NWO so will need longer post-production. But yes, I was wondering if it could be the missing film, given what I thought were the original plans.

Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
I'm pretty bad at remembering most of the previous plans once release dates shift. I apparently just delete that data, so I can't really recall how Armor Wars fit in as a show. But it's definitely possible they'll move things around again. In fact, rumor/leakers keep saying it will happen with KD taking SW's date and SW moving to the following year. I do remember The Marvels seemed further along than Wakanda Forever at one point but they never switched those in the release order because WF had to finish the phase and marvels had to come closer to Kang Dynasty. So, yeah, if Armor Wars needs to precede New World Order in release, even if NWO is ready first, seems like they'll maintain plot order.

Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
I assumed that big gap was a consequence of a lack of commissioning/greenlighting at the height of the pandemic.fac wrote:Thanks for that list.

Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
That's also possible it is a result of the pandemic, but I would have thought that development could have continued as that can be done "remotely", it was actual filming that suffered the most. But I guess you mean that they weren't willing to invest and get going on things.
I don't know, I think they may be doing a little revising of plans - not to relitigate any analytics discussion, but I think they must be a little concerned that Phase 4 hasn't had quite the engagement and zeitgeist impact they might have wanted (and some of that is pandemic related in an odd way - I think word of mouth and office discussions at breaks and lunch help make films become a must see, and virtual work has less of that).

Re: Official Marvel Cinematic Universe thread
I think they HAD to know, with some of these swings like Eternals etc, and following the mega-release/culmination of Endgame, that they'd get something like the reaction Phase 4 received. Maybe it went on longer than they expected, I dunno.
And I don't think the gap is really because of the pandemic because there wasn't a gap initially, but shifting dates around again resulted in what they have now. It's part of why I'm not even that worried about since they clearly see the schedule as fluid and will likely shift again.

I'm just throwing this out there, but maybe the brain trust at Marvel Studios is waiting to see what the new brain trust at DC Films has planned before they announce anything.
Gunn has said that he'll announce some of the DC slate this month, and this month is almost over, so ... any day now?

I think this is the first time a trade has referenced Nova being a show in development. They also talk about Echo and Ironheart getting delayed for next year.

Why Echo needs her own series is a real head-scratcher to begin with.
