Pulse is separate from any product line.
I am not sure if licensing is referring to products Hasbro makes based on licenses they pay for, or possibly licensing their IP to others. My initial read was that included Legends, but the language is vague. Will be clearer when they release the actual financial statements.

Re: Marvel Legends in 2023 General Discussion
I think its concerning. A large loss in revenue all while greatly increasing prices, means Hasbro sold a lot less units. Some brands will have performed better than others, were they Marvel Legends, Star Wars, MMPR, GI Joe? We'll find out more in a few weeks.
But how is Hasbro going to squeeze those brands that performed well to increase their revenue and make up the slack? Are they going to spend less on the product (poorer materials, paint apps, accessories), Cheaper factories, raise prices even further (the Boba Fett tax), or will they double down on them and make them better to sell more?
Given Hasbro's track record I somehow doubt it's that last option. And I know that sounds doom and gloom, but I'm honestly not too worried. I think we will still see good products, but maybe not the way we are used to seeing them. I hope the recent changes (some of which were hard to swallow) are the worst of it. I also think Hasbro made some poor decisions recently. They lost some good will and consumer confidence. They could reverse some of those decisions and gain some of that back.

Re: Marvel Legends in 2023 General Discussion
I asked mods on the ML subreddit to see if the three guys would do an AMA. Nothing ever came of it. Hasbro def tries to control the conversation by choosing what channels to appear on and don't do Q&As. They know they've got a hostile audience and a public forum would be a nightmare.100ptsofarticulation wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 1:31 amMiss those Q&A's man. Now we get influencers asking horrible questions while being annoying... For the most part.
It'd be nice if we could organize something monthly in it's own thread like the old "Ask Hasbro" thread and somehow vote on which questions get asked, and then submit them to someone that talks with Hasbro.
I know these are ramblings of a crazy man... But I can dream.

But I'm saying the one's they do talk to need to ask better questions.
My solution is to compile questions here monthly and maybe everyone vote on the questions that get submitted to be asked. That list then gets submitted to a willing person who is allowed the privilege to talk to Hasbro.

Fwoosh is definitely one of the more sensible and measured places in terms of criticism. Stuff like those YouTube livestream comments and a lot of the discourse on the subreddit is just people being asses. And not the fun kind.

Yeah, I spend some time on the various action figure subreddits and I'd honestly hate for them to do an AMA. The dialogue there is overwhelming negative and toxic, and I don't see how it wouldn't just devolve into grievance. I'd love to see them do more interviews with people who know how to engage them in interesting conversation about things they are allowed to talk about, but those are the exception rather than the norm. Our hometown heroes at the Fwoosh always seem to have good conversations when they get a chance to sit with them.

Another thing I'd like to see in 2023 are more Wasp figures. Janet has so many costumes that, like Iron Man, you'd be able to pepper a Wasp figure redeco in nearly every wave. But naturally, they'd wait to give us the Pérez-era asymmetrical blue-and-white costume dead last.

I passed on that set when it was like $4.00 in clearance aisle at Walmart. I just didn't want the rest of em in the set.

I really really really wish they would re-release that damn mini wasp that came with the MU Avengers 3 pack many moons ago.Thor-El wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:43 pmAnother thing I'd like to see in 2023 are more Wasp figures. Yet Jan and Hank are the only two Avengers founders that aren't on any rumored lists in comic form.
You'd think all five would get something.
I'm hoping for a Jan and Hank 2-pack that wasn't leaked.
Something like:
1st appearance Wasp and correct classic Ant-Man, both regular size and mini size
Wasp in red/yellow (late 60's look) and Yellowjacket, both regular size and mini size
Throw in a bunch of mini Wasps in a bunch of different costumes

You find ways to work WITH the system. We'll all adjust accordingly.
Re: Marvel Legends in 2023 General Discussion
Yes, that's the risk. I've had it happen to me with the windowed packaging too. Figure looked fine from the front, but opening it up and the back had bad paint or the figure was incredibly loose or whatever. You can only see so much from a windowed package. If there wasn't one available at a local store to exchange, I would either live with it or return it and take a chance ordering it online.Blingoman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 10:07 pmHere's the problem with that...Imagine you go to a store and there are three instances of a figure that you want. They are all in windowless packaging. You pick one, buy it, and go home and find that the figure has a noticeable defect that you could have seen if there were a window on the box. You go to return it to the store and find that the other two have been sold so you can't swap it out. You're just out of luck. One of the other two might have had better paint or whatever, but you couldn't have known and now you'll never know.sephiroth61787 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 7:56 pmI think the point is that no matter what type of packaging it has, thieves will find a way. There's plenty of product in stores with closed packaging that we readily accept and purchase no problem. We return them to the store when there's an issue. Electronics in particular have swapping concerns as well. We find ways to deal.

Re: Marvel Legends in 2023 General Discussion
Frankly most of the complaints around windowless packaging are pretty silly to those of us that do most of our shopping online. Paint defects for the most part aren't that common (or at least is it common to have a very bad/noticeable one)sephiroth61787 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 5:27 pmYes, that's the risk. Re: Marvel Legends in 2023 General Discussion
It's not even the constant negativity in the action figure subreddits that bothers me really, it's the gross exaggeration of issues. After the Gamerverse Spider-Man was revealed, everyone now argues that all Marvel Legends figures are now $35 instead of recognizing that one as an annoying outlier. There's plenty you can be mad about, but I wish people would just stop making stuff up to be mad about.H-bird wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:21 am
