The deluxe looks like a cyberpunk scarecrow.
Why does Jessica Drew look like Misty Knight?

This is true, but I also tought they marketed the 3rd movie as 'Beyond the Spiderverse'?

This wave was originally a baf wave... but the baf got moved to being a deluxe figure and the parts were all taken away to make it a non baf wave.
You're not getting more accessories, not getting any baf parts, and paying the same price... while now also having to pay $30+ for what would of been the "free" build a figure.
I wouldn't be too surprised if the same thing happens with the No Way Home wave.. and the goblin glider and goblin gets bumped to being a deluxe with no baf either.
It might be great still for the cherry pickers, but really sucks for those who want most of the wave AND the deluxe.
That being said, spider-woman and cyborg spider-woman look great

So for all the anit-baf people out there... this is what apparently happened from what i'm hearing

Awesome!! Would have preferred BAF treatment like others but cool figures are cool figures.

Re: Across the Spider-Verse Wave
I would have been shocked if Hasbro was going to give us a BAF as detailed and unique as this, especially in a wave full of new tooling. Most of the time BAF's are re-use and more on the simplistic side. I'd sooner believe this BAF was planned but proved too costly so they separated it. Or separated it and used the extra budget money to improve it.

Re: Across the Spider-Verse Wave
Thank you for laying that out. Yes, definitely sucks for people who even want most of the wave, but yeah.... As someone who would want only half the NWH wave if Green Goblin is made a deluxe instead, I would be really really happy with that. I get how it costs more for other collectors though.spideyboy1111 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 10:38 pmSo for all the anit-baf people out there... this is what apparently happened from what i'm hearing

Re: Across the Spider-Verse Wave
I'd say the opposite is true for movie waves. Every BAF I can think of was new tooling, even for the second black panther wave that had a lot of repaints and reuse for the regular figures. I'm sure there's been a movie BaF or two that wasn't all new but I just can't think of any.christianpyro wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 11:00 pmMost of the time BAF's are re-use and more on the simplistic side.

Theres plenty of bafs with unique sculpting. (Sp//dr, tri-sentinel, venompool. Etc...)christianpyro wrote:I would have been shocked if Hasbro was going to give us a BAF as detailed and unique as this, especially in a wave full of new tooling. I know it may benefit some of you, but you're still getting less product for the same price regardlessRu_1977 wrote:Thank you for laying that out. Re: Across the Spider-Verse Wave
I get how that is the case depending on what you get, but checking the numbers for buying the wave/selling unwanted figures for a reasonable amount VS. just getting the ones I want and a deluxe figure... the second option should save me $20-40 depending on the deluxe price. If it ended up being the same cost, I'd still opt for not dealing with eBay and the post office. But i also don't see BaFs as bonus figures since a lot of times they're a character I really want.spideyboy1111 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 12:03 amI know it may benefit some of you, but you're still getting less product for the same price regardlessRu_1977 wrote:Thank you for laying that out. Re: Across the Spider-Verse Wave
Yeah, like I generally want like 2 figures per wave. If I have to buy 4 more figures I don’t want at $27 a piece, that’s $108. If I can hope to sell those unwanted loose figures and get $10 a piece for them, it knocks it down to $68 for those 4 BAF pieces I needed.
There’s the variables like waiting on a sale or clearance for those other figures. But I’d rather just pay for the couple figures I want and $40 for the deluxe and not have to deal with hunting down anything or dealing with eBay.

Re: Across the Spider-Verse Wave
That deluxe is super skippable for me. I am only getting the Spot and maybe if these drop in price the Spider-Men that are new to this movie, sans the deluxe.
