I’ve been rewatching the Iron Man series with my kids. Definitely wish we could get more Retro Iron Man figures!

Need:
Mandarin
90s Crimson Dynamo
Titanium Man
Century
Blacklash
Blizzard 1
Hypnotia
Dark Aegis!

The Distant Boundaries episode featuring Titanium Man and Dark Aegis remains a favorite of mine. I was so disappointed when that last wave of 90’s Iron Man figures was canceled because I was so looking forward to the planned Dark Aegis figure.

When I first got Disney Plus I did the same thing. I was actively collecting comics with iron man being my main book at the time this came out and I was obsessed with finding out more about Dark Aegis. It wasn't until years later online I found out he was made for the show. I do remember finding on Raving Toy Maniac that his figure was in the cancelled wave that was repurposed as other figures in the Spidey and Xmen lines. I would like if they gave us that entire wave on retro cards. That's exactly the kind of thing I think the retro line would be great for, giving us something we never really got in the original line, a new character in Dark Aegis, a fan demanded character in Living Laser and some cool armor variants that I am sure they could execute well with minimal new sculpting and creative reuse. I love characters like Dark Aegis and the Iron man comic was full of characters like that (Samurai Steel, Atom Smasher) that were in one or two issues with cool designs then gone.
Agreed that it would be a great way to use the retro line to release versions of that final Iron Man wave that didn’t get released. Dark Aegis and classic Living Laser would both be fantastic to get in Legends!

Marvel vs Capcom style War Machine is certainly epic. Love the colors in person and all the great effects!

Here is how he looks with Modular Armor Iron Man’s cannon with the red blast effect from Apocalypse.

I look forward to the day when someone finds a giant blast effect to attach to the front of that proton cannon.

Wow, that figure really pops. I love the effect of the combination of shiny paint + pearlescent plastic.

I was totally on the fence about this War Machine, ordered him on impulse, and am absolutely enthralled with him. A couple of times a year Hasbro inevitably releases a pretty much straight repaint I adore with when I least expect it and this is the first one of 2023. I like the modular IM but something about the colors on Rhodey really pop.

And now I regret not picking up Tony with the oversized canon.

Since this is the overall Iron Man thread these days, I wanted to point out that Classic Titanium Man is now officially modern Titanium Man as well!

Also, I think the next armor they should do(since it has repaint potential) is that modern armor/ pentagon armor... The one with the fins on the back that toybiz did.

And then they can release a new Iron Patriot on that body, minus the fins.

I'm totally down for that armor, as well as an inevitable Iron Patriot reuse, which makes more sense than reusing Extremis for him.

Pentagon armor is a must. I hope they not just repaint Extremis to make Iron Patriot...

Since they did Ultimate Cap, they have to make Iron Man too. And Thor with THIS Hawkeye, obviously.

Iron Man Retro Wave

Yeah pentagon armor is still one of my favorites. The metallic ruby red version from the Sentinel Armorize collection was my substitute modern Iron Man for the last 6 years or so. I’d take another one from Hasbro for sure. But only under the caveat that is really big. That figure should push the boundaries between 6.75” to 7” tall because that armor was absolutely daunting in the comics.
