The Marvel Universe is absolutely LITTERED with 'human-like' aliens, which by the same logic you're using here, it should not be. Most of the 'aliens' in the MU shouldn't even be something we'd recognize as intelligent life, in all likelihood - let alone have two arms and two legs and a humanoid general shape. But if they are going to have very humanoid shapes, it makes sense that they'd have fingers. And since our five fingers is probably more just evolutionary happenstance than 'the perfect amount of fingers for a humanoid body' - it makes (as much) sense (as anything else here) for other humanoids from different evolutionary backgrounds to have different numbers of fingers and toes.EnigmaticClarity wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 9:46 pmWhat is up with Marvel and their four-fingered humanoids? I'm guessing it's an author's way of indicating that someone isn't human. I suppose I can accept it with Mojoworld and Thing since they're both related to Earth, but it's particularly odd to do it with alien species. Unless two planets share a common panspermic origin then in all likelihood a different species wouldn't evolve with humanlike fingers at all.
But like.. they should probably all be space grabs and fungi and shit that we don't even recognize as intelligent life so...
