Probably just me but for me Generation X was always my second favourite X team right behind Excalibur. So Im super excited for Jono and Monet. My big thought is should I but multiples of M to do customs of the other Gen X girls Husk just needs a head swap and Jubilee needs the coat and a head swap but do we think that they will get a release at some point? A few people have had concerns over the bust size but while in those costumes sometimes they were drawn as toddlers other times they had fairly ample proportions it really depended on the artist. As for a character i'm pretty sure only I give a crap about we are only a head swap away from a Gaia figure.
Gen X was my top team. It hit me at the right time A) being a young teen, B ) falling in love with Bachalo art in his Sandman works, and C ) having just finished New Mutants and being ready for this brand of weird.

Monet and Paige were my girls, loved Jono and Skin's angst and mystery, couldn't get enough Jubilee snark, loved the Emma and Sean relationship, loved the Danger Grotto, loved all the weird crap the squad got pulled through.

When it fails to hold up for me is due to the crossovers and events that broke its stride, but I still find it as timeless as the best comics.

If I can just get the #1 cover treatment in representation, I'd be beyond happy.

I started in the teen issues, but I also loved Gen X and am looking forward to these figures! Really hope they fix M's chest, though, so it's the correct size to the rest of the figure.

I do wonder which character Hasbro will decide to skip to keep the team one away from completion!

Haha too true. It'll need to be someone like Penance so we can't make her ourselves through a simple headswap.

Hopefully it’s Mondo since kind of not really a member.

Generation X had a lot of promise; but, once Bachalo left, it was no longer on my pull list.

I kinda followed along peripherally for a bit because I really like most of the cast, but that book was kind of a mess once Larry Hama and Warren Ellis had their turns (well imo most of the mid to late 90s Xbooks were a mess too). Monet and Chamber got more love than many once the title was cancelled and only recently Husk after Austen, Jubilee no longer a Vampire and Synch is resurrected, has a cool new look is on the X-Men; glad they all have gotten some redemption.
I’ll take the team looks but hope they get their newer individual ones at some point.

As for Generation X I remember recognizing at the time just how different the earlier Bachalo stuff was from where it ended up. Don't get me wrong, each style had its merits, but I wondered whether his going more cartoony was in reaction to the popularity of Joe Madureira at the time, given that he picked up X-Men after Joe left, or if Bachalo always preferred cartoonier stuff and just did the more realistic artwork to get gigs or because that's what Marvel wanted at the time. I remember in the earlier 90s him drawing some very Jim Lee-styled X-Men in some issues, so maybe he just hadn't found his niche yet, or he was more just meant to mimic others' styles for transition issues.

As for the Chod wave, I actually found a custom Corsair I like better than what we're getting. Looks to be with the Punisher bandana head.

I remember reading an article specifically addressing this a long time ago. He said the chance in style allowed for him to get the books done on a monthly basis. His earlier, more detailed work just took longer.

Personally I am so starved for comic book artists who put actual time and detailed line work into their panels that I'd almost prefer late books if that was the trade off. I can't remember the last time I stoped reading a comic so that I could sit and take in the detailed pencil work.

I can't remember the last time I read a comic because the interior art is just so... not up to par.

My roommate saw some new animated shows advertised over my shoulder and pointed out "oh look more animated shows where the character's eyes are all just dots". I never realized that is what I find so offputting about a lot of animation these days. It's obviously to save money but my brain rejects it (and a lot of the other gross physical exaggerations).

Comic art feels similar to me in that way - the covers are often great and if the interiors matched the covers that would be different. But the interiors are rush jobs to meet a deadline, and with an industry so old, you'd think they'd have found a way to fix this problem by having the writer way ahead so the artist has actual time to work and then solicit the issues once done? Obviously there's a balance but the fact that comic books aren't protecting the look of their comic pages has bugged me for years.

Couldn't agree more.

I was reading the latest Moon Knight trade last night and there was a story where MK was in prison. He put himself there to track down an inmate. The story was pretty good, gritty, and MK was a bad @$$. Unfortunately, the art didn't match the tone at all. Smooth, stylized, minimalist anime is how I would describe it. Not a lot of detail, barely any background. I kept thinking how cool it would be if it were drawn by a Jim Lee or a Gary Frank or a David Finch.

You're tempting me into two!! :)

The Lightning Collection Lost Galaxy Green Ranger would be a great headswap for a Synch. Debating on a good blonde head for Husk.

I was reading a Marvel Team-Up trade paperback the other day featuring all the issues by John Byrne and Chris Claremont, and they were so awesome. So tightly scripted and beautifully drawn. They just don't make them like that anymore.

No, they really don't, you are correct. I love when I have a reason to take a pause from the story because I'm so busy looking at the art and taking in the detail. It just doesn't happen too much.
