They actually made the appropriate smiling Perez head already... the only problem was they painted it grey and stuck it in with the grey colored Retro Beast. Such a shame.Space Phantom wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 10:31 pmI think everyone would have to agree, he would need a grinning expression head.

I'm looking forward to finally completing this lineup. Well, less the Champion. Thus my BAF choice in this year's Top 10 vote.

That doesn’t really work as a Perez Beast for me. The face is a little too long and the hair tips should angle in a little to be a Perez Beast. Perez Beast is def shorter than Wonderman but definitely thicker. Jackyl is just too slight.PantherCult wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 10:55 pmThey actually made the appropriate smiling Perez head already... the only problem was they painted it grey and stuck it in with the grey colored Retro Beast. Re: Avengers Legends Puff Adder BAF Wave
I've been waiting for Safari Jacket Wonder Man to get a figure for even longer. Since it was in comics. And looking at the in-hand review, this figure is starting to disappoint me. The biggest sin is his shoulders. Once again, we have drooping shoulders which make the figure look so unimpressive physique-wise. Which is especially frustrating for someone who's known as being a powerhouse. Remember Wasp commenting on Wonder Man's shoulders? Well, she wouldn't be for the guy this figure is showcasing. Such a bummer, because we'll likely never get a figure of this version of Wonder Man again.Lucid Silverback esq. wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 9:24 pmThe more I see of that goofy-looking Wonder Man figure, the less I like it. It's incredibly frustrating because I've been wanting this version of the character since the early 2000s and this offering has so many issues that require rectification, I just don't think I can justify a purchase.

The slumping shoulders are definitely a sin.
The lack of a turned-up collar is a crime.

Re: Avengers Legends Puff Adder BAF Wave
Wonder Man looks great for the most part! I agree that he should have wider larger shoulders and a heroic physique under that coat. So that’s unfortunate. But I’m still happy to get him.
Definitely also want new ML figures of Wonder Man’s first appearance costume, his second costume, and a redo is his ionic energy form.

Re: Avengers Legends Puff Adder BAF Wave
Not great. Now that Legends addressed my biggest concern with double-jointed elbows on the ladies, I'm going to start bitching about the scale issues.
The scale creep has been largely out of control over the last half-decade or so, and it's made worse by tiny figures like Lady Deathstrike and this Wonder Man. Wonder Man's height is probably fine, he's 6'2 in the comics. But he should be massive. He's listed at 380lb.
I hate when they whiff on long-demanded characters that aren't likely to get a second release.

Re: Avengers Legends Puff Adder BAF Wave
To be fair 6'2" and 380 lbs has something to do the density of his weird body. There is no way someone could get to those proportions with a toned "heroic" build without some sci-fi explanation. Even NFL linemen generally don't swing close to that differential and Simon has never been depicted in that sort of way. It's something more along the lines of Thor weighing 650 lbs or whatever he weighs.

No doubt, but Cap shouldn't be noticeably wider even in tighter-fitting clothes.

Re: Avengers Legends Puff Adder BAF Wave
They probably decided to make this Wonder Man figure, because they knew they could reuse this collar for Animated Chameleon, the same with other Red Skull parts. As for the jacket - Blade, maybe Ulysses Bloodstone and other characters. I doubt they cared much about this Wonder Man version, thats why he came out so mediocre.

Except Professor X didn’t wear a safari jacket. That was a flight suit so it was more like a pair of coverallsJPC wrote:My bet is we see this torso reused for Safari Professor X.

Simon, the shoulders should definitely be broader, the legs, I’m not a fan, regular tights all the way; but I’m still very happy to be getting this figure after all this time nitpicks aside.
As for an Avengers era Beast, in my view he needs a dedicated sculpt and it’s unlikely to happen sadly, there is nothing available that would work for reuse to do him justice, the Jim Lee/90s Hank buck is too big, Jackyl too slim, the Grey Beast headsculpt looks off (especially the human nose, proportion and placement, brows, expression)

This custom I found in a search, I just don’t see the Jackyl body being quite there (note: I don’t know where this is from and I’m not at all being critical of the work involved) the Jackyl buck isn’t what I personally would want in another Beast figure from that era by Hasbro.
