Preordered Kang.
Won't be shocked if this wave drops sooner than Summer like most of the other ML stuff.

Re: Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wave (2023)
These MCU sculpts look absolutely incredible - especially that Kang!
It has been an extremely long time since any MCU reveal it feels like - so the unexpected Cassie reveal (given she was not on the leaks) was an extremely welcome surprise! I hope MODOK pops his ugly face up somewhere soon as it would be a real missed opportunity.
My MCU related thoughts:
1. KANG! Incredible. I foresee it being in all top 10 lists for 2023.
BUT.... What a pity about no extra headsculpt and to make matters worse the twitter quote from Dun Yun that the He Who Remains head will sit too high on this Kang figure is such a punch in the guts. That's Hasbro totally doing us dirty.. at least offer an alternate headsculpt. I am also slightly worried about shoulder articulation and I am kinda hoping the cape can come off as well?
2. Cassie BAF - great surprise. I think the unhelmeted head is a clue that a 6-inch normal size will be on it's way. I hope it doesn't take waiting for her next MCU story for that to pop up. I know I would have totally preferred a normal sized Cassie - but I am over the moon to see she is actually getting a fig as the initial leaks made me worried she would be missing out. I am totally a sucker for NEW MCU characters for the collection!
3. Antman - I think he looks nice. I am a fan of the new costume. It's not different enough to get me super hyped but I will eventually pick him up in no rush once he hits aussie discounts
4. Wasp - love the new face sculpt and I think the colours are popping and great. I am actually really excited for this fig!
Biggest gripe though - Hasbro doing us super dirty with the BAF and the non MCU figs again:
Having to pick up 4 comic figs just for BAF is becoming a bigger challenge now with increasing ML prices. I like to think of myself as an MCU completionist - especially when it comes to first time NEW characters. Though must admit - I felt a little defeated in 2022 building Rintrah and Attuma with the need to pick up and then try to sell non-MCU figs.
In AUS ML have always been pricey and now as prices continue to rise Hasbro needs to recognise that (presumedly the majority?) collectors do not want to feel forced to dip over to the dark side to complete their BAFs (and I mean that in the nicest way and exact same mentality goes for exclusively comic collectors needing to get MCU items for their comic BAFs).
I recognise from a business perspective how this is aimed at getting us to spend more - but I am becoming exhausted by this approach and worry it may start pushing me away from the hobby. Which is totally a pity - as this is the 1st time I have experienced ML fatigue since I started collecting ML around ?9-10 years when the first ML MCU figs came out for The Winter Solider way back when!
I hope that we start to see more of a push for MCU-only waves and I hope that comic collectors also continue to get amazing figs that fill out collections.
Sorry for the rant - but I know the Hasbro teams lurk on these boards so I think they act as a great forum to get our voices heard given we put so much into this hobby!

F4 villains are sorely under-represented in ML (though the same could be said for DD, Doc Strange, Thor villains, too).
Red Ghost & Thinker are often portrayed as portly fellows. Ya think Hasbro would slim them down, like they did with Egghead’s figure?
What’s the order of preference?
I’d go the same order FZ wrote them, best to blandest costume.
1. Wingless Wizard
2. Red Ghost
3. Mad Thinker
Definitely want an old school Awesome Android.
Don’t get me started on Diablo & Dragon Man.

I think that’s next to inevitable. Mad Thinker too. Now they’ve got their villain jumpsuit body, they’ll use it for anyone adjacent, no matter the body type.Hbhf wrote:I’d seen the suggestion of Red Ghost on the Kirby Red Skull body (or at least utilizing the limbs).

I see the Mad Thinker & Red Ghost as just being slightly thicker guys not necessarily all that portly. Like average less heroic middle age build. Almost seems a slightly larger torso and crotch piece that accommodated the Red Skull limbs would do it. Doubt Hasbro would bother.

Re: Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wave (2023)
Some good stuff here, creatively.
Kang looks phenomenal. Not worried about the arm articulation, he doesn't need to do much. Pre-ordered because he's the only one that I suspect might become more difficult to get in the short term (the UK market's changed dramatically in the last year- nothing Legends really sells out fast anymore, almost everything's still available in multiple places 12 months later, 90% of it heavily, heavily reduced and making you feel an idiot for paying rrp instead of being patient.).
Actually like the Ultron inclusion. Just about close enough to classic Ultron for those who missed him, and a good drone-bot-army-builder for the rest of us. I like that I can flank my classic/2020 Ultron with a couple of these when they're inevitably on sale/clearance- and like that the difference is just slight enough that these'll look more like drones to that 'prime', with their cheaper, duller looking marbled plastic and the alt head. Shouldn't have been single packed and had a BAF piece as the army builder, but at least it means this BAF piece will be cheap and plentiful on the aftermarket.
Although more stock always arrives later when necessary; Wasp and Egghead have been offered in low allocations to most retailers in the UK for now because Hasbro allegedly seem to be anticipating those as peg-warmers and don't want to flood stores- but I think they're both fine, personally.
Wasp's very, very good but for the missing silver on the helmet, and Egghead's obviously how we're getting Banner's lab coat, so a useful bit of additional tooling and a nice deep cut for those that know him.
Movie Antman's pretty good. Back when I was all in I'd have loved him, not so enthusiastic anymore, so doesn't feel exciting. Good work, though.
I was an MCU completeist until the last year (same as Black Series), but for financial reasons-
No more.
(Primarily masses of stock turning up miles earlier than suggested. Seriously: If you tell people they need to budget for something to arrive in approximately 6 months or more, then the balance disappears in the hundreds or thousands from their accounts within a few weeks, prior to Christmas, as recession creeps, because everything suddenly turns up waaay early- that's a lot of people's effing rent and bills unexpectedly shafted, Hasbro! Not playing that game anymore.)
... So I'm waiting for everything but Kang, and definitely skipping Egghead, future Antman and Crossfire, which means I miss this BAF, I guess. I'd buy figures I didn't want for the BAF in the past, but not at the newer prices, which might arrive too soon, and when they're now worthless on the aftermarket, too (the eBay market has collapsed in the UK for Legends and Black Series- everything's new/complete in box from the last year for about £15 posted, so there's no chance of selling a figure minus the BAF for anything above a tenner, which is pointless when you take out postage, time, fees etc- Can't shift Howard the Duck or Hatut Zeraze for a fiver!).
Shame, but for everything I miss, I care less. Break the spell of fomo once and it loses it's grip. Getting more distanced from it all, more disenfranchised.
Well see which of these I still want in the Autumn.

Obviously no figures yet, but the leaked list for this was as follows:
* Captain America (Bucky)
* Super Posable Black Widow
* Iron Man Mark I
* Hawkeye & Sky-Cycle
* Hulk and Bruce Banner two-pack
* Captain Marvel and Doctor Doom two-pack
* Black Knight & Sersi two-pack
* Skrull Queen and Super-Skrull two-pack
* Deluxe Super-Adaptoid
I am guessing we will start to see these soon now that they've finally unveiled their anniversary logo.

Re: Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wave (2023)
I have never been one to complain about price increases. I've always found them to track conditions in the world, comparable products, etc etc. It helps that I don't buy as many figures as I did, say, 10 years ago. I'm not really balking at paying $23-25 for a single, standard figure.
That said. Preordering two standard figures for $50 left a mark. Felt like a lot. And left me wondering, "Why did I need Crossfire so badly?"
