This could be pretty cool for those who want to immortalize themselves in plastic, or attempt to have custom figures made of civilians they're clamoring for like Darcy, Woo or Hayward.

My first thought was how do you submit photos and what happens when people try to make celebrities.

I'm pretty sure the photos will be submitted through an app on your phone so you can't just use random photos of celebrities. Hasbro may also have some sort of review algorithm for copyrighted images. I'd hope they would add the civilian bodies to the mix, but it looks like they want to use generic non flesh tone necks.

There was talk of this this morning over on a Star Wars (Star Wars is starting off with X-Wing pilots) forums. We were wondering what would happen if people submit pictures of actual characters from the movies that haven't been made yet in action figure form. My guess is that Hasbro would site "likeness" issues or something.

But, this could, theoretically, be a way for people to get a Michael Douglas Ant-Man, a Robert Redford Donald Pierce, or a Kat Dennings Darcy Marvel Legend.

I think once this becomes active - you could try and take photos in-app of the actor and hope Hasbro doesn't recognize it.

It looks like you'll have some options for head shape, skin tone and hair. Doubt the hair color is variable since it's a separate piece of plastic. Really curious how this will turn out.

I am hoping it allows us to do just that, but something tells me that it's going to be restrictive in that sense. Maybe you will be able to squeek one by whatever algorithm they use or whatever, but I bet this practice will be restricted. Even though it would mean several sales more from Hasbro by me
