Hasbro's hesitation to make a New Mutants Magik is particularly cruel given the character's popularity.
Hasbro's hesitation to make a definitive Jim Lee\Brown Wolverine or even good Psylocke fgure is even more cruel

And they have all the pieces for it.
I'd buy both of those since I wasn't paying attention when they came out, but Wolverine needs a better masked head than the squinting one.

They got better with unmasked heads with the 275 ones.

I'm surprised people don't view the Classic Series Brown/Yellow Wolverine as definitive.

To me, that's pretty much perfect. The Juggernaut version was a bit too dark for my liking, but they corrected the colors on that rerelease and I've never really worried about upgrading since.

The blue/yellow is a different story. I'm somewhat happy with the ones we have, but they've danced around the ideal color combo. For me, the original release is tainted by the marigold yellow, the love triangle is tainted by the dark, dark blue, and the perfectly colored Animated Series version is ruined altogether by the cel shading. Still, I'm happy with the body and everything; just need to fix the colors.

I wish they'd revisit that one more time or just phone Mafex and tell them to rerelease their blue wolverine with non-metallic blues and some black tiger stripes.

The ‘90s Toy Biz Random figure is on an orange card, which was for good guys, and not purple, though. And I believe he was pictured as a member of X-Factor on some of those ‘90s trading cards. I was going to put him with my ‘90s X-Men next to guest star characters like Longshot and Maverick.
I'd say if you're going off the animated series status for those two characters, but Longshot WAS a legitimate comics X-Man for a while. Maverick to my knowledge never was, until recently, and even then I'm not entirely sure since everyone's been thrown into the Krakoan sandbox, so he's more or less just a Wolverine ally that hangs around and may or may not be on whatever new iteration of X-Force is coming out. Random wasn't a bad guy until Marvel started hiring fly-by-night writers in the late 90s/2000's who would just shove various characters into roles they'd never logically be in (ie: Banshee being a totalitarian dictator/squad leader having brainwashed/coerced villains into serving in X-Corps), so I'd more or less say Random is an anti-hero, especially since he's really just a kid with mutant powers that allow him to modify his physiology, hence his decision to look like a burly biker dude. I'd probably stick him with X-Factor, as I remember when Quesada was pencilling it in the 90s that I was never quite sure if Quicksilver was officially on the team either as he never seemed like he really wanted to be despite being there quite often.

To clarify, I’m talking about the retro wave Longshot with the yellow star. I consider him like a guest star because of the run in X-Men 10-11. I have a specific ‘90s X-Men display.

For the other Longshot from the Mojo box set with the white star, he’s of course with my Outback-era team.

Yup, as far as I know they do. It's one of my few gripes about this set. That next is about two times longer than it should be.

Why lollypopping is still an issue for many figures is beyond me.

Got the rest of the X-Men 60th anniversary collection in from CMDStore today. These are tied for my most anticipated series of the year with the Avengers stuff coming out in fall.

I almost don’t want to open them to wait for a bad day when I need the pick-me-up.

Rogue is on the way, just waiting on the Banshee/Psylocke/Gambit 3pack after that and I can hopefully take a breather til the Cho’d wave which I bet will be sooner than later.

As much as I hate to admit it I really like the 5 pack. These figures have a different feel to them and much more intricate paint deco and custom sculpting. Really makes a difference.

The only issue I have is they didn’t finish painting the Spot. He should have more black circles. Guess I’ll have to do it myself.

I have dremelled out a bunch of heads to sit better on the figures. I'm pretty sure I've done every Storm. Almost all the X Ladies. Probably most of the female villans. And a few MCU figures.

Got charged for Blob by Pulse overnight, so, hopefully, he'll ship real soon. You never know with Pulse, though. Sometimes they charge you and don't even ship the stuff for a week. Also totally forgot he was $60, hahaha! I guess that might nudge me toward selling the old BaF after all.

Wait, are we confusing our "minimal-paint-required" action figures here? Spot is all white with many black spots all over him. Zero is all white with one zero on his chest and one on his face. :D

Yep, severe lollipop syndrome on my Storm as well. Jubilee's head is also a bit of a lollipop but not as bad as Storm. Love the figures aside from this glaring design flaw.

I am totally planning to turn him into The Spot too.
