I was talking about the head only. That's J Scott Campbell's distinctive look.
I WISH this looked more like Campbell's art. The jaw is too wide at the bottom / the chin not pointed enough, and the eyes look pretty blank. I think they should have done 2 heads for her, one Adams and one Silvestri and a lot of people would have been a lot happier with that.

Thus far, to me, the best looking Campbell figures were his DangerGirl ones McFarlane made in the late 90s. You can really tell when it's 2 artists doing the quality control, as they look like they stepped right out of the books. Limited articulation, yes, as is Todd's drawback, but the figures themselves and all the accessories/bases they come with were clearly something Todd followed to the T when incorporating Campbell's sketches.

Yeah, it's from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe:

She's frustratingly deceptive. When you first look at her in a group shot of all the other Outback X-Men, the knee-jerk reaction is, "Oh, YES!" But then you look closer and you see she was never really drawn that way on that team, just on ONE low-run modern variant cover. Then you look closer and you see what IS there looks good. Can you live with that? Then you look closer and you see the trademark Hasbro corner cutting on the outfit. But the colors are on-point. Can you live with that? She doesn't hold up to inspection.......but does she? Oh bother!

The X-Men fought the Reavers and took over their base in the Outback in UXM 229, the very same issue Rogue first appeared in this outfit, which she then wore through UXM 246 and beyond. So, this look is, in fact, THE correct Outback Rogue. The black body suit with the loose tank top look is pre-Outback.

where is everyone displaying these characters?

Pretty Boy with the Reavers of course.
I used the same effect on my Vertigo 8)

I have a random cube for X-Men villains I can't fit into my main display, and I was able to fit 4/5 of them...

I do have 3 Multiple Men with my X-Factor team. I may just take one out and stick Random there.

Then I would have room for Vertigo.

Personally I think the portal looks better when paired with Spiral. I don't know if that's quite how she teleports but I think it suits her. As for getting it in pink/purple, I'm sure if we start clamoring for it loud enough, we and the people who want a proper AOA Blink with her quiver and all that can easily talk Hasbro into giving us an overpriced deluxe AOA Blink.

Similarly to Spiral, it also might look cool with Magik as is with her yellow and black sword and mostly black outfit. Has she ever had a portal like that? It seems like effects tend to change over time, so maybe someone has some insight there as I'm forgetting...AoA Blink plus portal would also be a good way to just drop an AoA box set. Maybe Nightcrawler, Storm, Quicksilver, Banshee, and Blink with portal or something similar.

And let's be honest, a properly done Nightcrawler "bamf" cloud is an effect that's long overdue given his popularity I'd think an Alan Davis or Dave Cockrum X-Men Anniversary figure could come with about 3 of them with one larger one that pins into the back of the figure since they all have that hole back there.

As for Magik, from what I remember, her yellow portals look like horizontal stepping discs whereas when she's drawn with blue one's they seem to be the vertical ones that appear like they're tearing space-time similar to the Dr. Strange/Zero ones. So I think a partly translucent "glowing" blue one (that more enterprising folks can back/bottom-light with LEDs) would be fitting in this case. Oddly enough Nightcrawler doesn't look bad with the pink Exiles Blink portal, even though it's inaccurate.

Overall I really think that if Hasbro doesn't issue a new Original 5 X-Men boxset (60s not Bendis') for the anniversary they're really missing the boat. A 70s Giant Sized X-Men Cyclops, whether new or reissue, really should be on the table as well.

I mostly remember Magik's portals opening from the ground with satanic symbols on them similar to the demonic circles seen in literature as shown below; same with Belasco, the demon who took her to Limbo for a while. I'm sure some artists have depicted her portals as being vertical though.

Hasbro's hesitation to make a New Mutants Magik is particularly cruel given the character's popularity.

It was a struggle getting them in here. I think at this point the only X-Villains I still want are Destiny and Ord. No more room!

Awesome, thanks for the link! I just recently finished working my way through the original OHOTMU, the Deluxe Edition, and the Update '89. Not reading every entry, but taking an inventory of the characters that appear in each. This collection is actually new to me, but looks to be way more thorough.

Hasbro's hesitation to make a definitive Jim Lee\Brown Wolverine or even good Psylocke fgure is even more cruel

And they have all the pieces for it.
