One thing I do wish they did was use a lighting effect on the repulsors since they don't have plug in attachment capability.

I'd still chalk the up a weird one off than anything else.

I think they priced it so high precisely because the previous version sells for so much on the aftermarket. At 24.99 he’d be sold out most places by now (speculation, obviously).

I mean...all previous regular Anniversary figures cost 26-28$. There’s nothing about this release that makes it any special from a standard one. There’s no removable helmet or alternate head, just hands and same blasts. I still think it's too much for the unpainted gray piece of plastic that they will re-issue several times. But if you're an Iron Man fan, it's a must, I guess...

I really like the white box with the "Avengers: Beyond Earth's Mightiest" branding on it. That's a very nice presentation. I mean, I toss the box anyway, but still...stands out really nicely.

Just like with The Blob, I think I'll stick with First Appearance Iron Man I've already got. The original figure looks like a guy in a big clunky robot suit, and that's what he's supposed to be, so it's not really worth the nearly $30 to replace it. If it was something I was going to use more often, maybe, but that look was only around for a couple of months before Tony spray painted it gold. Then even that version didn't stick around for too long.

Just want to reiterate (in case Hasbro is reading this) that merely repainting this Iron Man gold is NOT sufficient for a rerelease. A new “skirt” pelvis and a new “bucket” helmet are absolutely necessary for the “first Avengers appearance” look.

That said: I freaking love this figure and cannot wait to get him in my hot little hands.

Happily preordered a couple of this First Appearance Iron Man! It looks amazing.

Tony also used this armor a few times in Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in other situations like when fighting Ultron, who could remotely hack into just about any digital technology.
