2022 Black Panther - Wakanda Forever waves

In addition to below, Rektangular reported the BAF figure for Okoye and M'Baku will be reissued in some manner and a deluxe figure is planned but he knows no details about. So one of the BAFs may well be that deluxe.

There’s 2 black Panther waves coming next year.
One is for Black Panther 2 the other is a MCU Reissue wave.

The reissue wave includes…

MCU Black Panther
MCU Killmonger
MCU Nakia
MCU Shuri

The BLP 2 wave has 7 figures. 5 of them are movie related.

And my gift to you all will be telling you the 2 comic figures in the wave.

“Goodnight 6” = Comic Black Panther

“SleepTight 7” = Comic Hatut Zeraze

I could see that, and was thinking one reason for the BP re-releases might have been the realization that the BP2 wave was going to be more Atlantean than Wakadan.

I wonder how that would go over. They've never tried it and it doesn't give the same "get em all" insentive when it's a BAF you already had a shot at.

also I wonder if they'll even do a new Nakia with the reissue happening. Riri I could see being held back to time with her series, if she even suits up in WF at all. Could be a Black Knight sort of thing.

Glad we're getting Hatut Zeraze army builders. I've always liked their design and rereading the Hickman New Avengers had me wanting some last year.

I've been thinking a lot about the new classic Black Panther. As much as I like the costume design from the retro-carded release, I want a BP with butterfly joints. I'm not a huge fan of that Spider-Man UK body in general.



I'm wondering what we'll get. Something similar to the ML10/Christopher Priest run? Or the Kirby/Romita Jr. look with the short cape and stripped boots and gloves?

I just hope Black Panther isn't on Bucky Cap or Sunfire. I know they said they are retiring BC, but I'm still paranoid. And while I love the Sunfire body, I'm getting a bit burned out on it.

I'd be okay with Hatut Zeraze being on Sunfire, though Vulcan for both would be very ideal.

Given that we are getting an Army Builder in the wave it is making me think what they could do for the BAF. Unless it's the case that it will be considered a unique character.

Thinking Hatut Zeraze might actually wind up being packaged as White Wolf with removable/swappable gear to army build if you want. He just has the more recognizable name right now.

There's still a low of raw emotion around Boseman's passing so I'll probably evaluate the movie figures on how much I personally like them rather than how anyone feels about the movie. Good toys can exist in a bubble.

As much as I'd like MCU King T'Challa with throne (arguably a glaring absence from The Infinity Saga line), I'd be surprised if the deluxe set isn't Gamerverse War for Wakanda Black Panther and D&D Guenhwyvar with maybe a new head. The game Hatut Zeraze was a simple invert of that default suit so they could just ship that off to GameStop and call it a day.

Well 4 of the original figures were re-released today. I already have the ones I wanted, so pass for me. Cool to see the Boseman Panther get a reissue since that got hard to find after his tragic death.

I like the idea of the legacy series to keep important characters in print and accessible to new collectors. Already have all of these (even army built the Dora!) but love the concept of making them available for folks who jumped in after waves have long passed.
