I think I was pretty fortune that financial situations never dictated getting rid of anything. I like the idea that I have essentially a complete collection going back to 2002 (2001 if you count the Spider-Man classics)

I still have the majority of the ToyBiz Legends (and some still on display, like classic Angel and Longshot). Honestly I want to get rid of the bulk of them for space reasons but the thought of selling them off one at a time on eBay, or even in small lots, sounds time-consuming and miserable. Maybe I just need a big yard sale or something to unload them.

I have all my Toy Biz Marvel Legends as well. I got most but not all of them until the Galactus wave. Then I was all-in!

Not me. I jumped off years ago, and then came back on in 2014 when the figures had improved a lot. i have most everything i want from 2014 onwards though, with one or two exceptions.

Re: Re: What's next for ML in 2022-2023
I still prefer a few Toybiz versions and display them right by their counter Hasbro companions in my main Marvel display which at this point is a whole wall. I sold off the ones I never really liked but kept for some time because they were at least a version of the character I wanted in my display. Like Toybiz classic Vision sold once Hasbro made a better one. Some Toybiz I still really like and can't bring myself to sell, so I display them on a side shelf from my main Marvel display; but the space crunch is threatening them. I mean ... anyone really want to get rid of their Toybiz MODOK?

Re: Re: What's next for ML in 2022-2023
I had a huge purge a couple of years ago and sold close to 800 figures (with around 70% of that being multiples for fodder). I'd slipped into being an absolute completist when really I actually care about a relatively small part of the MU. I've kept my X-Men, FF, Avengers, Spidey/street-level, villains and oddballs and got rid of the rest. It felt liberating, I'd been too scared to part with anything but with most of my collection in storage it wasn't like I could even appreciate any of it.

I dont think I am going to sell off ones yet, but I was starting to just buy all MCU related figures past 2 years. I plan on making shelf space by binning a bunch of them. I don't need to display the quantum suits and such

I think that's about 90%+ of the Marvel Fans/ collectors. Hasbro is good a triggering that mentality to get em all.

For those of you who have most of the figures dating back to Toy Biz, approximately how many Legends figures do you own? Do you display them all?

Just checked and my list of 6" Marvel figures is up to 999. Now I feel pressure to make the next one a good one. The vast majority of my toys are in bins. I display the current years purchases and then rotate the rest of my shelves every 6 months or so.

But I sold stuff off after it had been sitting in a bin for several years and I knew I'd never display them again.
If something newer and better came out, it replaced the older figure. Theres a few things I had attachments to and kept. But I sold and continue to sell anything I know I've "retired" and it helps fund current stuff.

I have legends figures dating back to spider-man classics wave 1. I've had every legend (aside from some super rares like silver shirt cage, and Crimson dawn psylocke, etc) in my possession at one point or another.TheSameIdiot wrote:For those of you who have most of the figures dating back to Toy Biz, approximately how many Legends figures do you own? I currently have around 100 more figures in storage (a mix of Toybiz/Hasbro) and maybe 80-100 complete figures in the fodder bin waiting to be customized.
Re: Re: What's next for ML in 2022-2023
I have around 120 figures on display - that's all I realistically have space for right now. Mostly Hasbro, around a dozen Toybiz that I think still hold up well.TheSameIdiot wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:52 amFor those of you who have most of the figures dating back to Toy Biz, approximately how many Legends figures do you own? Re: Re: What's next for ML in 2022-2023
No way of knowing. I have probably sold 2/3rds of my nearly complete Toybiz collection over the years. Display a dozen or so still in my main Marvel display and another 2 dozen or so over in the corner. I have about 5 shoe boxes full (I'm tall so think size 15 shoes) of 6" Hasbro & Toybiz Marvel figures to sell, cannibalize or hem and haw over what to do with in the closet. My toy displays are basically two walls about 8 or so linear feet that go floor to ceiling. A shelf every foot or so. Not all Marvel though. My main Marvel display takes up the smaller of those 2 b/c there's a space cut out for my desk. The full floor to ceiling wall with no cut outs goes to nearly everything else.TheSameIdiot wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:52 amFor those of you who have most of the figures dating back to Toy Biz, approximately how many Legends figures do you own? I still have all of my Toybiz figures. And a ginormous amount from the five inch days. And Secret Wars. And those two Die-cast Mego figures. And a Mego Spider-man with the broken hand. So a lot. But I don't display anything.

Lol I just counted about 975 legends in my display, and only 67 are toybiz
Though at least 10 of those are getting retired and replaced this year
