I’d place bets it’s a smaller sentinel from the Konami game as we know the Legends team absolutely loves that game. They reference it constantly.
I would be absolutely shocked if Hasbro did a classic Man-Ape. I feel like the optics of that really wouldn’t go in their favor with non-collectors who saw it.

Wow, what a gorgeous design. I never really *got* War Machine, but I do now.

I don't think these selections are all that odd for a line celebrating the anniversary of ML. They showcase the wide selection and breadth of Marvel media in ML. That said, I think some of these may just be individual figures from waves. Firelord, for example, could show up anywhere. Even in a Spider-Man wave.

Re: Re: What's next for ML in 2022-2023
I guess I was just hoping for a few more redos of ToyBiz era-only Legends characters, like Toad, to come out of the Anniversary stuff. Since my Legends collection is 2012-Present, anybody from the first 10 years that hasn't been redone is a hole for me.
From the ToyBiz years, I still hope to see redos of the following at the least at some point: Ketch Ghost Rider, Howard the Duck, Vengeance, Blackheart, Redwing, Longshot, Baron Zemo (Daddy Zemo), Mojo, Destroyer, Dracula, the Monster, Werewolf by Night, the Zombie, Baron Strucker, & Mandarin.
Even the early Hasbro years have a few I'm sorely missing: Banshee, Annihilus, Yellowjacket, Blob, Rachel Summers, Brood Queen, Mole Man, Ronan, Doc Samson, Fin Fang Foom, Ka-Zar, Shanna, Zabu, Spiral, & Dum Dum Dugan.
Suppose I was hoping to get a couple more of those checked off besides just Toad.

Marvel vs Capcom War Machine would be awesome. A repaint, but he should look great!
I remember that old 5” Toy Biz Marvel vs Capcom War Machine and Mega Man two pack. That was such a nice set back in the day!

Yeah, he'd almost certainly be on the F4 retro cardStark Resilient wrote:Except he's not showing up in a wave.Ash Talon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 10:31 pmI don't think these selections are all that odd for a line celebrating the anniversary of ML. Which is fine. I just don’t see Firelord being a $30 figure like the other anniversary figures revealed so far. So maybe on a vintage card but just with 20th anniversary designation, like a sticker, on the packaging .

I was thinking about that possibility as well. Something like some of the 80th multipacks had.

Re: Re: What's next for ML in 2022-2023
What a weird lineup if this is part of the anniversary line. I’d like to get some of the names mentioned and will take a wait and see approach on the others, but it’s just odd that they remade the first 4 specifically even when there wasn’t much need for Hulk and Iron Man again so soon, only to say let’s go crazy, let’s get nuts, let’s look for the purple banana until they put us in the truck for the rest. The names mentioned by Tinkerer a few posts above me would be more than enough to fill out multiple waves by themselves just on the Toybiz side alone.
The theme for 2022 seems to be “We’ll make ANYTHING.” Which isn’t bad. Weird though. It reminds me a bit of what McFarlane is doing with DC. They throw balls in the tank and let the manatees decide what’s coming in every wave.

Re: Re: What's next for ML in 2022-2023
To be fair - Hasbro has revealed exactly 3.5 waves for this year - and that's it. To say none of it is interesting isn't exactly fair.
HOWEVER - very little of the leaks actually interest me, because there doesn't seem to be a pattern - it feels like the SW mentality of the last two years is creeping into ML and I don't like it. It feels like I know which characters I want, Hasbro knows which characters I want, and then goes out of their way to obfuscate giving them to me. I think part of it is that exclusives let them charge whatever they want (until it backfires hopefully soon) so they've made half their releases exclusive, which makes the whole thing feel scattershot.
But like I said - they've only actually revealed 3.5 waves, out of a year where the tentpoles got shifted three months ago. I just wish they'd start letting us in on their plans.

I really hope we get a movie Carnage that gets the movie Venom treatment. Just saw the Hot Toys production version and man... that would make a great Legend.
