I'd rather we get more 70s-80s Claremont Era X-Men before more modern stuff.
There's still so many characters, teams & costumes to do.

It’s definitely a difficult balance to strike. Giant Size/Bronze era is almost done; Angel, Banshee, Beast, Havok, and maybe a Polaris and Wolverine. Early 80’s has a lot of the same costumes, but late 80’s has a lot of gaps with the Outback team. 90’s are the closest to being done, until they look at Gen X.

But there’s a TON of stuff from the 2000’s and 2010’s to do. And they’ve taken a good crack at the Utopia era teams, but there’s main characters missing or in need of reason, and a ton of students. And of course Astonishing needing all new figures.

I’m not saying the most current stuff is less important, but they have a lot of irons in the fire and it would be nice to see one or two come out before they start really building a new era.

I did find it frustrating that there were only themed waves for the X-Men, those themes being something I never cared for, mainly because it made me spend the same amount on making customs.
I do wish Hasbro could've made another Retro Wave, much like Spider-Man & Fantastic 4, giving us a mix of 70s, 80s & early 90s X-Men,X-Factor, X-Force & New Mutants related figures , also a prime way to also include a re-release of Dark Phoenix, which is the biggest name missing in my collection.

Astonishing X-Men has surprisingly not been updated since ToyBiz, I'd say sprinkle them in too, Cyclops & Wolverine could be a good start in a non-themed wave.

If there was a Themed X-men wave coming up, I down for a Savage Land theme. That would make a great display.

Wonder if there will be a Fan First Friday next week. If not, I imagine it'll just be a one-off reveal, as they won't make any announcements after next week.

The only convincing guess I’ve seen for that is that it’s part of a diorama of some sort. Excited to see what it is!

Just chiming in with the couple of people who’ve mentioned a smaller ‘first appearance’ style hulk - very much on board with that. Although it doesn’t really make sense source material wise, I’d love that in green with an original style head that’s smirking, for immortal hulk vibes (though I know IH was much bigger). (Best marvel comic of the last... I dunno, ever maybe?!)

If they ever do more House of X figures then I absolutely want the new Storm design.

Image
Yes please!!

I’d love more house of x designs in general, but I suppose as a lot of characters use iconic looks, there aren’t loads of obvious choices. The green ‘x men red’ costume for jean? Rogue’s early Excalibur costume? Kitty with pirate coat? Cypher? Betsy cap?

Ok maybe there are a few (I’d love a nature girl from x men green, and synch in his red vault costume). I guess there’s the arrako mutants too. And the gala costumes - that’d be a dream box set.

And it’s be easy to fold some classic looks under the same banner: armour, Monet, a modern cable, Greycrow, deathbird etc.

I tried writing this in the Thor thread but couldn't quite get the gist right, and probably still haven't, but if I was Hasbro I'd really try to finish off the remaining classic/Silver/Bronze age character looks ASAP so I could move the comic part of the line almost exclusively into the 2000's and modern looks. For example, Angel in various forms and a few other odds and ends could really finish the X-Men up to the mid-90's; same with needing one wave for classic Thor, one wave for classic Daredevil, etc.. Use the Fan Channel and lines like Walgreens or box-sets to focus on the pre-2000's as they have been doing, but the main BAF line should go modern. I feel like they are almost doing that now but haven't fully committed.

Just seems like the time is right - both in terms of what is left to make, and how far back in time (40 to 50 years ago) we are still talking about for the looks on some of these characters being asked for - to move the nostalgia part of legends up to the most recent 20 years and put the 60's to 90's in the rearview mirror. Focus on the MCU and modern/recent comic looks while doing a last push on the classic eras to fill in the remaining major gaps for the folks like me who have been collecting this for 20 years.

Part if this might just be me thinking I am closer to downsizing and would like to just get this "done", if that makes sense. I don't want to wait another 10 years to finally have Angel figure(s) to complete the early X-Men, or the Warriors Three, or some classic Daredevil supporting cast - I look at how long it took to get FA Storm and it was simply too long. And it is clear from the threads on this site that many want newer versions, and why shouldn't they, if that was the era of comics that means something to them.

I know the assumption is the line can handle all eras and that is probably true, but I feel as though the House of X and AoA waves - and AoA isn't exactly a recent comic - have shown that themed waves of different eras are great. Meanwhile the mixed waves are getting even more mixed and pulled in a bunch of directions.
