It would be hilarious if these were the same X-Men VHS figures, but without сel-shading. They would never do that, right?
Well the rumored wave is

Wolverine
Rogue
Storm
Gambit
Bishop
Magneto

So the only one they could really do that with is Wolverine and Storm. Granted all of them could be mold reuses with minimal deco or tooling differences. At the same time, I do kind of expect some changes, like Wolverine might be pinless this time around.
Also he’s almost guaranteed to have a different headsculpt because the mask shape is much different this time around. Actually it looks relatively close in design to how Andy Kubert used to draw him

The Magneto design is also not a costume Hasbro’s done before, so that’ll likely be a new figure as well.

So I've had zero interest in this line. Don't care for cel-shading at all. But with the sale, I decided to get Cyclops. Holy crap, is he an awesome figure. He makes the original one look terrible by comparison. I'll be getting some nail polish remover this weekend to clean him up.

Congrats, he made the top 3 last year for me, the sale was exactly what I was waiting for too load up on extras, got a replacement Sinister, another storm, Morph and a bunch more Cyclops, it's officially an illness

X-Men The Animated Series

So while all of you have decided to remove as much of the cel shading as possible, I added a wash to my Wolverine to further enhance those details on the rest of the body. I didn’t want to make them too strong, but because this is most likely my quintessential tiger stripe wolverine, I tried to make this figure have something of a blend between comic book shading and cel shading. I just can’t decide if I also want to add highlights on his mask and stripes or leave them alone. I don’t think they would be completely blue like they would normally be in the comics if I made that attempt, more likely they would be a marble color or a mix of gunmetal and metallic blue and then I’d water it down

I also finally got around to fixing an Animated figure:

Also, Hasbro gave her the wrong eye color - Animated Jean has blue eyes. I don't have it in me to fix her orange tones, but this figure is now really close to Holy Grail Toy Biz never actually made. :)

See Hasbro? Not that hard.

Wow, that looks great! Nice job! Did you sculpt her hair? Based on your results, I'm tempted to try this.

Thanks! I sculpted the top of her hair, but the ponytail is Thunderstrike's. I've always been tempted to use Vindicator's but she's too far back on my shelf to pry out and I had an extra Thunderstrike pony after a custom. :)

Having this correct look is very satisfying!

The claws are from the Mafex brown and tan Wolverine

OK. Thanks. Don't have a Mafex Wolverine.

I did find some aftermarket metal claws made for these hand on ebay. The seller is OwlCreekCustoms.

They're not bad. Maybe a little on the short side, but they still look great. They come in 3 different shapes.

They work on the Love Triangle bone claw hands too, which these hands are just a re-use of.

I mean it kinda works because wolverine’s claws in the tv show were sometimes drawn as very short. I tend to prefer the exaggerated length and the Mafex claws are even longer than the Hasbro and Can of Beam Claws. I would love to find some longer looking bone claws too since this will inevitably be my comic tiger stripe wolverine too

Thanks. Honestly it’s mostly Hasbro’s original cel shading with a couple extra bits that were painted orange in black. This is nothing compared to my Mafex wolverine or my Simon Bisley Batman which has 3-4 layers or paint or cel shading each
