Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness wave 1

Probably within six months of when we have Green Goblin.

Unlikely. They haven’t even mentioned doing GG yet, unlike the variant Spider-Men, and even those they said are gonna take a year. We’ll almost certainly have a Scarlet Witch by the end of the year. Her presence clearly wasn’t kept secret from Hasbro when they did that cheap Titan Hero figure.

Now Illuminati figs? Yeah, we’re not getting those this year.

That's the point of my cynicism. A figure that had no reason to be held back won't come out until after a figure they haven't even hinted at. It's exaggeration.

Having watched the movie, I'm disappointed by the character selection for this wave. The figures all look great, but Rintrah and astral Strange instead of Wanda or Variant Christine is baffling. Obviously, Hasbro wasn't privy to the relevance of these roles in the movie (except for Wanda's, right), but still...

I mean, I'd argue Christine had a bigger role than even Mordo. Hopefully we'll get her and Wanda in a 2-pack.

And, of course, I'd love to get all the Illuminati members.

We finally got Sharon after years of clamoring, so I always have hope.

Sharon actually has narrative importance beyond one movie though.

Defender Strange and Rintrah got made over Christine because they’re characters that actually look cool as toys. This isn’t a dig at Christine, but it’s definitely a major factor.

Also, if you tend to notice the which civilian MCU characters get made, they’re usually dudes in suits that can easily and cheaply be made on one of the existing bodies with little new tooling (Jameson, Ross, Luis, etc.) In fact, most of the civilians in Legends seem to follow that trend, except a few like MJ and Ned.

Again, this isn’t a slight on the character, it’s just not hard to see why a green man bull or a costumed superhero were deemed more worthy of the tooling budget than some civilian in a lab outfit. Even Katy in Shang-Chi at least had a battle outfit (and the figure still warmed pegs like crazy). She's just not a very exciting looking character, which is why I wouldn't be surprised if we get some of the Illuminati before her too. They may have had a smaller role, but most of them at least would look cool as a toy.

Debatable, but if I were Hasbro even if I agreed, I probably would have done both Defender Strange and Mordo both over Christine. More popular characters, more exciting figures, etc. Again, I get you are a huge fan of the character, but in terms of overall popularity, I don't think Christine has much at all. She isn't a Happy Hogan or someone more in demand. I can see her maybe in a future M10 esque like wave in a 2 pack. Though i think several other Doctor Strange movie characters like Ancient One or Kaecilius are far more likely. But I don't think she is nearly popular enough to warrant a figure herself in a wave. I could go with you on Darcy coming sooner than later cause I think she has more of a following especially post Wandavision, but Christine I just don't see it
