Can we make requests for pics here?
I'm finally reading earlier X-Men issues. I got into them really late as a kid, around the "Outback" era. In my mind, that's still kind of mt favorite default look, followed by the Jim Lee era of course, which is a lot of people's default just for its level of exposure at the time.
But now I'm reading these early 80s Paul Smith/JR JR issues and the art is just fantastic. So underrated, in my opinion!
I love Cyclops' classic suit, Wolvie's brown costume...very much like the animated "Pryde of the X-Men" cartoon. Storm's mohawk and leather outfits is also very much of that time.
Does anyone have any pics of the X-Men that really represent that era? That'd be so cool!

I’m not sure you’re allowed to show Venom without a 50’ tongue. I think it’s against copyright or something.
Still, nice shot.

Here's a cover from one of my action figure comics that is set in that exact era.

If you want, the entire comic can be read on my site at this link http://www.billscomics.com/xmen-comics.html

I'm still hopeful Hasbro will do a 6-pack update on better bodies with more accurate colors & an Arcade-esque box. I mean, it's juts so obvious a box set
Re: Fwoosh Official Marvel ACTION PHOTO Thread 2.0
great shot -- this is "my" definitive X-Men because the game introduced me to X-Men in general & got me to start reading comics. I really wish Marvel would do *something* as kind of a wink-nudge to them in the comics more often -- the most they've gotten is a 1 panel flashback in that X-Men '92 HoX series

There would be a little backlash if that was the NEXT place Byrne Cyclops pops up - but yeah, Arcade, First App re-do and Astonishing multi packs would be big sellers.tetragene wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 2:40 pmgreat shot -- this is "my" definitive X-Men because the game introduced me to X-Men in general & got me to start reading comics. Wasn't this the lineup for Pryde of the X-Men too (minus Kitty obviously)? Even with this Storm.. I'm also unclear on why this is the wrong Storm? I thought that was the exact costume she wore in the arcade game.

I think it's mostly there, in the arcade game it had a blue color which could have been their interpretation of shading, no cut outs at the top of the boots, and most noticeably arcade Storm wielded a short staff in her hand to, I don't know, channel her powers?

That's a great shot, E.
Do you prefer the Retro Spider-Man or the RYV 2-pack figure?
I kind of went all in on RYV myself. But I still dig that Retro figure, and would have been perfectly happy with it for good if they hadn't come out with the RYV set.
