I know this is a swap specific thread. However, Metaverse customs sells a snap on torso piece with the jewel.DutyBeforeAll wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 10:54 pmI’m going to call this done, unless I can ever find a a piece that looks like her medallion.

Re: ML Part Swaps
Ahh I see. It may just be my weird brain, but when I do customs I try to make the new figure, even if it's not completely accurate to source material, somehwat removed from the original parts used, with paint and different hands, and alternate belts, stuff like that. I don't like having 2 figures look the same unless they're supposed to (uniforms, squads, ect...). For my own personal ones, I feel it looks cheap and easy if it's just the same figure with a new head and nothing else done to it. I'm not saying yours does, I like the way it came out. But if I were to do it I would get rid of the silver cause when I look at it on my shelf all I'd see is Emma with Jean's head on it. It also bugs me when Hasbro uses the same head for different characters, cause it doesn't look like the character they're trying to use it for to me, it looks like the one that had the head originally trying to cosplay. So also when I do customs, I try to use heads from different lines. Power Ranger heads for Marvel figures and vise versa. I've used Tommy's head on a Jedi Luke and threw on some new parts and paint to make a custom JDF Jedi lol. I also made a custom MMPR Gold Dragon Ranger with the Winter Soldier Bucky unmasked head, and gave him different boots and gloves, paint the shield different, gave him the belt with the dagger sheath on the opposite side. Different heads from different lines so it doesn't look like the same guy in a different suit on the shelf.

Re: ML Part Swaps
I know that for my shelf (I did a similar Goblin Queen part swap) I don't have a Walgreens Emma, so there's not really any risk of me thinking they look too similar. Long as figures aren't on the same shelf it's really not much of an issue in my opinion.Trunks3540 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 6:19 amAhh I see. I just received that torso yesterday (along with the Classic Polaris torso and head) and it is really well done. Super clean, sharp detailing, and smooth. It's 3D printed but there are no visible print lines at all.

I know it's not an issue for some, it's more of an opinion thing. It's just how my brain works, which isn't like how other peoples works usually lol.-Fenrys- wrote:I know that for my shelf (I did a similar Goblin Queen part swap) I don't have a Walgreens Emma, so there's not really any risk of me thinking they look too similar. we all have our own quirks with collecting. One for me is that I hate painting, it never turns out right so I avoid it. Instead I try and just get close enough with part swaps or minor modifications.

Re: ML Part Swaps
I completely.get that. When I paint things, even if it seems to be done well by other peoples standards, it never feels like I did a good job. But, I do it cause when I do, it's still better then what Hasbro did or can do most of the time lol. And it bugs me worse if its done wrong, or painted poorly by them, or not painted at all when it should be in some cases.

Re: ML Part Swaps
Nice! I picked up the Polaris and She Hulk set. I will probably pick that set and the Rachel head/body set since I doubt ML will give us an all spiky suit Rachel Phoenix anytime soon.

Oof, hope you're wrong about that. I was thinking spiky Rachel has to be coming soon.

Re: ML Part Swaps
Might be McF DC Raven.
I've been browsing older BAF torsos and a lot of times the torso peg that connects to the legs/thighs have right peg looking different size than left peg. Why was that?
