Wait.
Do... people not think that Blue Beetle looks pretty cool, there?
Because, no lie, that looks pretty good, to me. It looks like Blue Beetle--a design I really like--jumped off the page.

Probably just me. But I always thought it was a silly design.

Re: Marvel Mezco One:12 Collective
The costume details look accurate, fo sho. It's the proportions that get crazy. The helmet has to be a certain size to fit over a human head. Even if it's form fit to that actor or stunt man, it makes his head look like that of a child compared to his limbs, which all look too short. Then out of nowhere, he's got a massive bulge in the crotch! So for those reasons, the image looks ridiculous. Yes, it's from behind the scenes, so I'm sure it could look good in action, combined with effects and possible editing of proportions. But regular people like us, even super fit actors with personal trainers, all look kinda silly at best, totally embarrassing at worst in superhero costumes. CGI may convince us otherwise.

Re: Marvel Mezco One:12 Collective
Huh. Fascinating. I know a lot of bikers (both motorcycle and bicycle), and I work near public safety, so I see people in helmets all the time, and I think I'm less bothered by the head; he's wearing a helmet, says my brain, so of course his head will look bigger, just like a storm trooper or Mando. I genuinely think that costume looks pretty cool/not silly, but that explanation totally makes sense why others do. Thanks Norm!

Looking at old pictures of Green Goblin that this figure is, presumably, based on: it looks like most of the time, unlike with this figure, his tunic and hat are darker than his belt and satchel. I think it looks better.

I see Spidey and Gobby as equivalent to the Bats/Two-Face set.
I'm happy to see Mezco move more towards a "specific comic era" vibe -- rather than the wack-ass "vinyl overlay on fabric" greeblies that pollute every single Mezco Batman.

While they were phenomenal figures, accuracy to the source material is a big draw for me. The appliqué on each figure was the worst part of them, like JL Cyclops.

I hear you on that, even if I have just about every single comic release.supermonkey wrote:I see Spidey and Gobby as equivalent to the Bats/Two-Face set.

Not surprising, but I got an email from BBTS that Doom has been pushed to 2023. Quite honestly, with everything else coming out this year I'm good with that.

I got that email to, which confused me because Doom was always scheduled for 2023... then I noticed the FF, which were due out in July were also pushed back to February 2023.S.W.O.R.D. Really happy to see FF pushed back to 2023. I am not ready to drop that amount of coin. With any luck it’ll hit around the same time as haslab galactus.

Glad to see many optimistic that they will have the funds for this purchase next year. Me, myself, I have the funds now and don’t see this being pushed that far into the future as a good thing. No guarantees that money I have now with be available for toys in the future.maverick10126 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 8:51 pmReally happy to see FF pushed back to 2023.
